Two Cards One Sketch -Weddings

Hi folks. I am still here and starting to feel a little more balanced and “normal” I put up my Christmas Tree last weekend and that always cheers me up ( I love my twinkly lights and special decorations). Then today I went to visit my Boy who is away camping and sitting in the sunshine with a genlte breeze blowing over me with the river and rustling leaves as a backdrop I remembered why I love camping. Just another week and a bit to get through of work then I can take a good break and go camping for a bit.

After not having to make Wedding cards for ages I have had to make three recently  including these two. I was so pleased with how Ana’s Card turned out that I modeled Jacque’s on the same sketch.

For Ana’s Card I used Cherry Cobbler, Basic Black and White as the colour way with the Scalloped Tulle ribbon, Mr and Mrs Stamp, Apothecary Accents Framelits dies, Delicate Doilies XL sizzlit, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder and lots of Dimensionals and rhinestones.anas card (463x640)Now Take two for Jacque used Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant and Brushed Gold. Again I used the Delicate Doilies XL Sizzlit ( it has 3 different doilies on it) 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle Punch, Simply Scored Board (for Rosette in First Edition DSP) Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, my brand new butterfly punch and some pearls. Now i know those pearls dont look pearly but that is because i painted them using the new Stampin’ Dazzle Marker in Gold. You can find them in the Holiday Catalogue on page 19.

I used one more of my new things for this card and that was the Spritzer bottles which are the best I have seen! Its been sloshing round in my work box for 2 weeks now and hasnt leaked yet. I sprayed the scored Rosette Paper and punched butterflies using a few drops of Elegant Eggplant reinker and the spritzer about half full. Just give it a couple of squirts in a well covered area (or everything gets spritzed) and leave to dry.P1010134 (474x640) I made a bit of a booboo when I embossed the very vanilla matt and put it in the folder up the wrong way so the side without the gold strip got embossed but I think it looks really pretty up this way too. Dont forget to get any orders through quick smart so they are back in time for Christmas, Im not going away over the festive season but it will slow down delivery times. Also the Holiday Catlogue finishes January 31st so dont miss out on what you want from there. Enjoy the sunshine before the rain comes at the end of the week folks.

Heartfelt Event Card

Last Saturday I attended the Stampin’ Up Heartfelt Stampin’ Event. It was great fun catching up with lots of other demonstrators I have met through the years as well as my own team ladies and wider team members. We had some great Presentations by some very talented ladies and they kept me busy writing notes on all they had to show and tell us. I certainly learnt some new things like when you using the Simply Scored Board you should work from right to left when scoring otherwise your scores wont be true as the card stock moves in slightly when scored!! Thanks Julia. We didnt have swaps this time but they were plenty of examples of work with many of the new products and gorgeous they were too! Instead of making lots of a design and swapping we were encouraged to create a card etc and share it on a board. Here is what I came up with.

And a close up of the flower and sentiment…..

Now here is what you need to recreate this beauty!

* New* Raspberry Ripple A5 topfold card blank (this is one of the new In Colours !)

First Edition and Twitterpated DSP packs (both of which carried over from last year)

Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder

*New* Apothecary Accents Framelits dies (FOUR different shapes in this pack check out page 191 0f the Annual catalogue)

Large Oval, Blossom Petals, Scallop Border Punches plus the Blossom  which I used to make the flower

Cherry Cobbler Bakers Twine and Victoria Crochet Trim

Fabulous Phrases Stamp Set.

Sanding Block ( thats why the blue embossed DSP looks different, I gave it a wee gentle sanding after it was embossed)

Raspberry Ripple, Certainly Celery and Soft Suede inks to sponge and stamp with and sponges of course!

Very Vanilla and Basic Grey cardstock

Dont you love the curly tendrils? Do you remember making those long curly strips using magazine pages and a pencil? Well I sure do and it worked a treat! Tomorrow I will show you my work of art name tag I made for the Christchurch Heartfelt Event so be good and I will see you tomorrow.

Im so proud of myself

You may remember me telling I was entering some of my creations in the Ellesmere A & P (agricultural and Pastural for the uninitiated) Show. Well I got firsts with all my entries AND a special prize too. I was so excited and pleased with these results. It was worth all the effort!

Here is my Work of {He}Art canvas which took the special prize. I used some pictures of my sisters wedding but dont look at them cos my Mum and sister both think they look awful in them. You may recognise those little flowers and if you were at the Quilt and Craft Show in Christchurch last month you may have seen it there too.

The top bouquet took me 3 1/2 hours to create! I think it was worth it though. I used the large swirl from Baroque motifs stamped in Basic black onto Whisper White cardstock and then cut out to decorate the canvas.

Also used are the Heard from the Heart Stamp set, Top Note Die, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder and Two step Bird punch for the leaves. Plus two of our new products – Shimmer Paint and Basic Pearls.
