Cards - Babies and Kids

Let the cute begin!

I was asked to make a card for a baby shower and I’ve just finished it AND  I think its GORGEOUS!! Not really sure what a baby shower card is supposed to look like but I know I would be thrilled to get this and I think the sentiment says it all.

Congratulations! Let the cute begin.

Not a terribly traditional boy combination but pretty funky I think; Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso and Crumb Cake. What do you think?? Sorry the photo is not great but I couldn’t wait for daylight to share this with you : )

One layer simplicity

As usual I was inspired by a challenge blog and this one is new One-Layer Simplicity Challenge now I don’t do a lot of one layer cards so this is a good challenge for me and I think I cracked it!

I even got a bit adventuress with my supplies – I made the stamps! Yes that’s right made them. I used some of the Rubber sheet that our stamps are die cut out of to create my larger circle stamps and a couple of cotton buds for the dots. The colours are Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding, Smoky Slate and Crisp Cantaloupe. I made a lot of these cards which are so quick and easy but very effective and will be mailing them out to some lucky folks soon.

Not long now till the next supplementary catalogue and Sale-A-Bration start watch out for a sneak peek tomorrow

A little something

Today has been a lovely sunny day and I have enjoyed it a lot especially with the bad weather to come this week. I have just a couple of  little cards to show you as I have been busy creating 27 yes 27 cards for  card swap I am doing with my wider team at a team training this weekend. I am so pleased with it and all the beautiful new In Colours I used on it but you will have to wait until after the weekend to see that. In the meantime……

Happy Mothers Day 2 cards one sketch

Happy Mothers Day to all you Mums out there. Both of the cards I want to show you today were class cards based on a card I saw created by Chiaki Haverstick. Here is the sketch I created for them.

22295909b The first one used the Everything Eleanor stamp set and my favourite Framelit set yet, Dress Up and was in a Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake with touches of  Chocolate Chip colourway. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake. The wee flower and pearl just add an elegant  finishing touch.

P1010475 (495x640) Version Number two I made with our local Boys Brigade company, I used a retired stamp set called Reason to Smile (which I do have an unused wood mount set spare if anyone would like it, $25 plus postage). As I’m sure you know little children, boys in particular are not always the “tidiest” of stampers and make thinks inky which is why I used the retired set : ) The sentiment is of course from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and is suitably stained purple now!

P1010798 (463x640)

And the boys cards looked like this. Sorry the photo is quite terrible, bad lighting combined with night-time and cell phone camera don’t make it pretty but it gives you the idea. There is always one child who manages to stick their front on upside down making a left-handed card!

CAS Baby

I find CAS such a challenge but Ive given it another go with the help of yet more challenges! Inkspirational and Clean and Simple.

P1010385 (480x640)Not really your traditional baby colours but I think they work Gumball Green, Daffodil Delight, Wisteria Wonder, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. The stamps I used came from: Every Little Bit,My Friend, Pennant Parade and Teeny Tiny Sentiments. I just love those new style piercing templates, they make it so easy to do frames and stitching !

I havent done the inside yet but Im planning to do something with POP!

Just a Shade Late

I have the worst memory in the world and Im always forgetting special occasions so this card is perfect. And guess what ?! It again uses the Dress Up Framelits! The colours are based on the Colour Q Challenge 175 and the layout is from the CAS(e) This Sketch Team , The stamp set is Clockworks and the happy birthday is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments

P1010348 (486x640)

I cut down the mannequin for the lamp base and the scallop edge skirt for the shade which I score in the middle and between each scallop. To make it sit out I added a 3 layered dimensionals near the bottom of the shade and using tombo glue put a fine line down either side of the shade edge to stick it in place . Its hard to see but there is even a wee dangling pull switch on the lamp too

Wedding theme Sneak Peek MM277

Coming soon to a demonstrator near you (that would be ME!) is the Seasonal Catalogue and in that catalogue is this gorgeous new set called Just Married which is what I want to show you a sneak peek of today. This card was based on the Mojo Monday 277 sketch

And here is my take on it

P1010310 (471x640)

So what did I use:

Pool Party, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock

Delicate Designs embossing folders

Versamark and Basic Black Embossing Powder

Just Married and Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamp sets

Basic Black and Pool Party Ink – Did you notice the shadow stamping on the sentiment – had to use the Stamp A Ma Jig for that bit!!

Decorative Label Punch

Ribbon for the Exclusive Sale A Bration Sycamore Street Button and Ribbon Pack ( spend $120 to earn this for FREEEEEEEE!)

Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz over the embossed matt – hard to see but its there

The real surprise is whats inside BUT you are gonna have to wait for that…… 7 Sleeps and counting!!

P1010252 (640x493)

I used my new Everything Eleanor stamp set and also a leaf and bird for one of the upcoming Sale-A-Bration stamp sets. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments. My Paper Piercing templates and piercer are getting a real work out lately Going around the oval is a bit of a challenge but I found by moving the Christmas Ornaments template around  I was able to get a fairly good piercing line.

Sorry the photos arent up to much we had a power cut earlier tonight so had to take the photo inside when the power came back on after dark : )

Cards - Birthday, Cards - General, Cards - Get Well and Sympathy

JAI Colour combo

This weeks Just Add Ink Challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake to create a project. I did two but my favourite is this one

I was so pleased when Fabulous florets turned up in the new Annual catalogue as I really didn’t want to pack it away and it was just perfect for this card.

Here is a bit of a closer look at the sentiment, it is from teeny Tiny sentiments and I used one of the line art flowers to emphasis it. Here is the other one I did in this colourway and tomorrow I will show you another version of the first card.

This card also uses Fabulous Florets as well as Curly Cute and My Friend. Simple and understated. I have been having to do way to many of these sympathy type cards of late  so Im hoping for some more cheerful occasions now
