Cups and Packed for Baby – Two Cards One Sketch take one

Only a couple of these Take a Sip Cards left but I wanted to try using the same sketch to do two quite different cards.

take a sip banner (601x800)

The first was Portrait and the banner hangs from the top with a slimmer one with the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Sentiments) on it. I wrapped the banner with some Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine which is a carryover item from the Summer Mini Catalogue. The embossed background is the Stripes folder, for the second card I used the Perfect Polka Dots folder.

packed baby banner (800x590)

I turned the sketch sideways to landscape for this card and used Packed for Baby to create my banner background. The scalloped spot ribbon has replaced the twine and the sentiment (from Short and Sweet) is stamped only once.

Cupcake Birthday Girl

This card is a for a little girl turning 4 soon. I was on a roll so decided to get all the childrens birthday cards done for the next month or so. I was inspired by two different cards I had seen about. I cant remember where I saw the tag idea but the cupcake Centre Step idea came from Rhonda Fawcett. I had been trying out this fancy fold as it just happens to be the kit my newsletter subscribers have been getting as their Birthday Bonus.

Girly cupcakes card

I loved the card I made yesterday so much I used the design again to make a card for my niece’s 3rd birthday too but of course in pink and girly colours.

I added the little cupcake from Short and Sweet and changed up the front a little. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake. The DSP is Lap of Luxury.

Heres a close up of the pennants

The sold out list is growing so don’t wait too long.

Love – ATC’s

I know Valentines Day was a wee while ago but I never did get round to sharing these gorgeous ATC (Artist Trading Cards) with you.  This was a swap between some of my fellow team mates and they sure are a talented bunch.

As you can probably see my one above uses one of the Sale-A-Bration sets, Sweet Summer. The sentiment is from Short and Sweet and the embossing folder is Square lattice. I spritzed the white part with Silver Foil Smooch Spritz and the heart is of course from Priceless which I don’t use nearly as much as I should. The gorgeous edging was done using the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Both the Square Lattice Folder and Smooch Spritz have been placed on the Carryover Products List which means even though the mini catalogue they were in has finished they can still be ordered!!

Bottom Row: Wendy Foster, Vicki-Lee Mueller and ME!

Go inside…..

I never did show you the inside of the fancy fold card from last weeks class.

Here is the outside and inside it looks like this

Isnt the little punch art snowman cute. Poor wee fellow. The sponging makes all the difference on this design. I snipped bits off the Snowflake from the Merry Details Die to make his arms.

Big Shot, Cards - Birthday, Cards Fancy Folds, Paper Flowers

Fancy Flower Pot

This is my second attempt ever of the Flower Pot card. I used some of the new colours for my flowers, my new favourites  Concord Crush and Blushing Bride with  Daffodil Delight and a little touch of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves. The flowers are punched out using the *New* Fancy Flower Punch.

The “pot” is Soft Suede and I wheeled the Very Vintage wheel across it using matching ink. The leaves are punched out using  the wing of the 2 step Bird Punch then tweaked with tweezers to give them veins. For the Flower Centres I punched them out using 1 3/8″ Circle then ran them and the Blushing Bride butterfly punchie through the Big Shot using the dots embossing folder. I added a scallop edge on the turn back rim and an extra layer of the Concord Crush to define the rim. Here it is open

“Best Wishes” is from the Short and Sweet Set and “Just for You” is from the Level 1 Hostess set Afterthoughts.

Dont miss out on these great products

There is only a week left to order the items still on your wishlist from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue! Have you got ink refills for your retiring ink pad colours and stocked up on your favourite retiring cardstock and DSP?

On Sunday I held a Masculine cards class and I justcouldnt help using a couple of my retiring favourites.

I havent used the Sweet Treat cups for ages so it was fun creating this balloon card with them. Purple isn’t usually a colour you associate with Men but it works so well with this paper from Autumn Traditions DSP in the mini.

I used the wee tie from Occasionally to create the middle card with a colour combo of Baja Breeze, Taken with Teal (Oh how I will miss you!), Elegant Eggplant and Kiwi Kiss (just using up my last few sheets boo hoo)

The last card is a fun punch art tool bag card. Soft Suede is just the perfect colour for the worn leather-look bag. After much trial and error I managed to create these tools using the Large Oval, 1 3/4″ and 1 3/8″ Circles with the addition of some strips to for the handles. All of these cards were based on designs I was while surfing if they are your design thank you for the inspiration and please leave a comments so due credit can be given to you.

Remember most of the ribbons are retiring too so if you want any of the ones I have used better get in quick! They are the Soft Suede Spotted Grosgrain, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red striped Grosgrain.

Email me! to place your order.

Girly Girl Pink

Well its Thursday so last night was my ATC class at Swap Sisters. The theme this week was “Pink and White Baby” which of course screams GIRL!

I pulled out lots of stamp sets to get some fun Baby images. Can you pick all 4?

Of course if you dont collect ATC (Artist Trading Cards) then you can use it as a panel on a card. Heres the one I did

Ok just to put you out of your misery the stamp sets are:

Rattle – Occassionally

Baby – All in the family

Nappy pin – Short and Sweet

Sentiment – the retired Something Sweet

Check in tomorrow for some big news

Challenges, Christmas, Punch Art

Corrosive Christmas Pudding!

I found the Corrosive challenge again and RED and GREEN it is this week so here’s mine

I used Spotlight on Christmas, Short& Sweet and NEW Wagon full of fun stamp sets

Here is the recipe for this cute wee Chirstmas pudding:

Stamp Cupcake from Wagon full of Fun on coloured cardstock

Cut out only the cupcake case

1X brown 1” circle for pudding

1 X White 1” circle trimmed in wavy line to form custard/icing

1 small 3 leaf holly – cut topmost leaf off

3 dots left over from punched Eyelet Border for holly berries

Now go make yourself some budget NO calorie Christmas Puddings!

Baby gift wrapping solutions

I have a double baby shower to go to tomorrow  so I have used this same idea for each gift. The larger green one is some cute flannels and the blue one is a wee Tshirt with a dog on it hence the punch art dog on the front of the wrapper.

This design also happens to be the challenge on the NZSU website! So thank you to the designer of this challenge as it works perfectly for this. Now the other funny thing is that I was given a similar wrapper last weekend which had had sweets in it. Thanks Adele for thinking of me after the sweets were gone.

ingrid baby shower
