Stitched with Love MDSM54

I have spent the last week or so sunk knee-deep in Paperwork but tonight I abandoned all that to the corner to CREATE! Of course I had a big sort out of papers today and my work top is very tidy for me so I don’t want to mess it up before I get back down to it tomorrow. Instead I created digitally using the MDS Monday card sketch as my inspiration. I actually really love this one and will probably give it a go traditionally too.

So I added the Decorative Dots (SAB download) as a layer over the base card and gave it a drop shadow so it looks like embossing. I used SAB brush sets, See Ya Later and Banner Blast. I cropped the heart off the top of the sentiment and added Black layers behind the banners and the two smaller ones have a coloured layer the same size behind them too. My Stitches embellishments came in handy to frame the Smoky Slate paper (Sweet Sorbet DSP – SAB download) and to “stitch” down the twine over the banners. The final touch was a diamante over the O in love.

Vine Street Video

Join Brandi Barnard from Stampin’ Up! as she talks about the Vine Street Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

I am coming to the decision that this folder is nice as I wasn’t all that taken with it to start with. The best thing was I got it for free just buy by buying Stampin’ stuff I wanted! If you have seen a SaleABration catalogue yet then follow the links in the post above to see all the gorgeous products you can earn by placing an order of $120 or hosting a workshop.

I did a card swap with some our Team Demonstrators and four of the cards used the Vine Street Embossing folder so take a look at these samples. The first which is my personal favourite was created by Kristine McNickle

This cute wee trifold is by Rachael Knight

P1010335 (640x490)

Another lovely sample by Paula Reid

P1010336 (640x455)

And the last one is by Delys Cram

P1010338 (640x433) Tomorrow I will FINALLY get to some projects from the NEW Seasonal Catalogue!! Its been a hectic few days getting everyone back to work and school and with all the heat as well. The last two days rain have been a blessed relief.

Teacup Ladybugs

While I was mounting up my new Sale – A- Bration stamp set PATTERNED OCCASIONS I noticed that upside down the tea cup looked a bit like a lady bug soooooo………

P1010239 (492x640)

Using a Real Red marker direct on the stamp I coloured in just the Tea Cup not the words or the steam swirl then gave it a good huff of breath to remoisten the ink and stamped. I then drew on eyes, legs and antennae. I’ve just now realised that to be proper ladybugs I should have coloured in the spots black DUH!!!!

Lucky for me the Dynamic Duos colour combo this week is Real Red and Basic Black AND that I had 32 minutes left to enter the challenge !

SAB Digitally Speaking

This year there are TWO digital Content Discs available as part of Sale – A – Bration Lemonade Stand and ONE Big SALE-A-Bration 2013. I got the latter to try out. Now here is my BIG DISCLAIMER If you are not at least moderately computer literate stick with rubber!!  You need a computer software program such as Photoshop Elements or Photoshop to work with the files and to use these discs to their full potential. I have used Serif Craft Artist 2 Professional here.

These discs include digital content such as stamp brush sets, Designer Series Papers, and digital-exclusive items. Stampin’ Up! colours and artwork in the My Digital Studio product line never retire, which is why you may see some previously-retired colours as well as some colours that were never released in this market in the discs. Any way here are the creations I came up with last night

beach scrap page

This is an 8X8 scrapbook page using Madison Avenue, and Bloomin’ Marvelous Stamp sets, Sycamore Street DSP & button and ribbon packs

bike hello card

This card uses the DSP and button & ribbon packs again but with  the Felling Sentimental bike stamp and Hello from the Happy Hello Simply Sent Kit

celbrate elephant card

Gotta love that Sycamore Street Ribbon & Button Pack this time with the elephants from Patterned Occasions and Celebrate from Feeling Sentimental

celbrate elephant card take 2

Same card again but I changed it up a little by adding River Rock as the base colour and a Whisper White panel under the elephants. While exploring a little more I discovered I could add a shadow under the panel which gives it a bit more depth.

I had very tentatively tried Digital Scrapbooking a few years ago so I had a little tiny bit of knowledge but it was definitely trial and error to create although the more I did the better  (and more adventurous) I got. So what do you think, how did I do??

You can see what is on the Digital Content Discs HERE

Just Add Ink Challenge

I haven’t done a challenge for ages and when I saw this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge matched an idea I had in my head it was meant to be.

This week it is:

I used two of the SAB sets: Fresh Vintage and the Hello sentiment from Elementary Elegance. I have a mug with a similar pattern which was my inspiration. It may be a bit hard to tell but the sentiment is actually stamped on the inside of the card and you can see it through the peekaboo in the front. My red was Poppy Parade.

Sneak Peek My Friend

Based on the same sketch as yesterdays card this one includes a little sneak peek of some of the up coming Sale A Bration products. Keep an eye out for more details only 12 days to go!

This is the reverse of the paper I used yesterday and instead of matting it on a contrasting cardstock I used my bone folder to emboss two framing lines at the top and bottom of the piece. The Stamp Set I used is My Friend on page 85 of the main catalogue. Poppy Parade ink again with some SAB accessories.
