Just how good are Stampin’ Up! Punches?

Well I have the answer to that! About 2 years ago I “misplaced” a punch and a few weeks ago my partner found it.

P1040502Behind the mailbox in the garden!! You can imagine the state it was in, full of dirt and leaves etc and jammed shut but with a little TLC it’s off and punching again.

Stampin’ Up! Punches are tough and last even if left out in the weather for two years apparently! And, although I wouldn’t recommend this treatment, here is the proof, some little stocking I punched out this afternoon after giving the punch a little fine tune with some layers of tin foil. I usually like to sharpen them with the tin pie plates you get with the fancy frozen pies as they are a bit easier to work with than the layers of foil.

Something NEW from something OLD

Another of my A&P Show entries. I had spotted a wreath someone had made using the paper that comes packed round our orders and thought how clever that was. After a bit of trial and error I got one plaited up and formed into a wreath shape : ) I also used that paper to layer together to forma thick mat to cut the hanging bit from.

For the flowers I wanted to use some other freely available coloured paper so thought about all those magazines my Mum gives passing on to me. Score! Glossy paper with lots of bright colours and you can use our punches on it if you punch out 3 or 4 pages at a time. I used the 2 3/8″ scallop circle, 1 7/8″ scallop Circle, Fancy Flower and the Blossom punches plus the Boho Blossom for the small flowers on the hanging part. Punch ’em, Scrunch ’em and Stitch ’em together with a button!

Ali’s Matryoshka String

Ive always loved those Russian Nesting Dolls and my wee girl just loves playing with my Nesting Santas then yesterday I found this cute pattern here. So today I made up some using the Level 1 Hostess paper pack.

Opps I forgot to put faces on them! – Lisa runs to her craft room grabs a pen and runs back to put the faces on the ladies under the watchful eye of Miss Ali.

I used the Butterfly punch and the wide heart from the Heart to Heart punch to add spacers to the string and a central drop from the middle butterfly. I punched an extra of each of the pieces and placed one on either side of the string  with a Pop Up Glue Dot to hold it all together.

Using punches I adapted the pattern. Her face is the 1″ Circle punch her hair is a 1 Circle double punched with the Butterfly Punch. The bow under her chin is made using the 1/2″ circle and the wide heart from the Heart to Heart Punch. I also used the Corner Rounder punch to make the scallop edge on the dress

The result One Happy Little Girl! Ive just had another idea I might go have a go at but in the mean time if you want to know how to EARN FOR FREE the Paper pack Ive used here or if you would like to order any of the supplies used do give me a ring or Email me!
