Creative Inkers Blog Hop

Title bar

Hi folks welcome to the Creative Inkers Team Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop. I love getting new Stampin’ Up! catalogues, its always exciting to see what their concept artists have come up with and there are some cracking offerings in our newest ones. One of my favourites is the Friends and Flowers stamp set.

My card was inspired by a picture my friend Julia posted on Facebook of some awesome flat cat felt Cup mats and I thought ” I can Punch Art that and use that cute animal face stamp from friends and Flowers!” And Guess What? I could!

This was my first go at using water colour paper to do a washed sky effect but it worked pretty well. Heres a close up of Puss.

Now If you have started here you can bang on NEXT to take you to Rebecca Palmers blog or you can bang on PREVIOUS to go backwards to Debbie Lamb. Either way have fun checking out the awesome projects

Self Close Box and Matching Card

This is a really cool box, I love that it stays shut by itself. I used paper from the Cherry On Top 6X6 paper stack. The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings. I added some punch art cherries using 3/4″ circle and 1 1/4″ Circle double punched for the leaf. Of course the Bow was made using the Bow Builder Punch.

To open the box simply squeeze the edges and it pops open.

You can watch the tutorial video by Sara Lincoln that I used for making the self close box HERE

Teddy Bear Wishes

How cute is this chap! The great thing is he was super easy to create and I got to use my new Bow Builder Punch. I based my card on one by Joni Andaya. She had a girly version too so I might have to try that one day soon too. The eyes are 1/2″ circles (I think?? or maybe it was the small circle from that triple pack of punches we had) The nose is the large oval which I double punched to shorten up the length. It is higlighted with some tiny double punched 1/2″ white circles. The muzzle was one of the Oval Framelit dies which trimmed shorter athe bottom “point” to round it out.

Nativity Scene Punch Art

This is a card I made to enter in our local A&P Show (Agricultrual and Pastoral for those of you who didnt know). Lucky for me I got First Prize for it. I hadnt done any punch art in ages so this was fun! I also got to use a Fancy Fold I enjoyed last Christmas too, the double gate fold. Its amazing what you can do with a few punches, some card, sponges and some markers

She’s a doozy

After making a lot of simpler cards lately and very very few punch art ones which were my favourite ones to do a while ago I got a little bit adventurous with this one.

It has an acetate window front and a gorgeous bear eyeing up the cupcake display. The head of the bear is hand cut and the ears are the 7/8″ scallop circle with a 3/8″ circle centre. The nose is the  heart from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Then its just add pen details and sponge all the pieces with Crumb Cake Ink.

Sunburst Surprise

I had a little bit of fun with the Sunburst technique which is the one I’m teaching at my Coffee and Cards class on Wednesday. It also happens to be the Just Add Ink Challenge this week too! I needed a birthday card for a wee boy and I saw a couple I kind of liked, one by Veronica Kettle and some punch art by “the Crafty Owl”. Oh I miss Punch art … sigh…. but I changed this up a bit to make it mine. He’s an awesome wee guy and only a little scary!

Every Little Bit Punch Art Teddy

Finally I have enough time and sanity to share some work with you all! Thank you for being patient : ) You might remember this card that I shared some weeks ago.

P1010385 (480x640)When I posted it I hadnt finished the inside of it but I have now so here is what I did…..

P1010417 (382x640)

You might recognize my pop up insert which you can find instructions for here. I used the same wee duck and teddy stamps from Every Little Bit to decorate the insert and created a wee punch art teddy based on the ELB teddy, His head isn’t quite as wide but I’m good with that.

Space…. the final frontier – Just Add Ink!

I had to do a boys card for Friday so the Seize the Birthday Boy sketch challenge seemed the obvious inspiration also the Just Add Ink Colour Combo of Midnight Muse, So Saffron and Whisper White seemed to fit what I needed too. So here is what I did please ignore the bright green backing paper it was either that or my messy desk!

Birthday Girl Punch Art

I thought it was about time I did some more punch art, my punches were starting to feel very “uncreative” as they only got to punch out as themselves not reinventing themselves as part of a fabulous creation. So here is a wee tutorial for yesterdays punch art card…… Birthday Girl

P1010276 (364x640)And here is how to make her you will need the following

Now for a few tips on how to put her together. its a bit hard to see on the recipe sheet above but there is a line drawn on the hair piece to show you about where to cut. Then you can add the pony tails to the back of it before adhering it to the face, Add the shoes to each end of the leg piece and cut it in half. For the arms position it as shown and trim off excess even with dress edge. Add legs , flowers to pony tails then outline with black pen and add face etc.
