Recently I went to a big Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Event held in Auckland called OnStage. It was a lot of fun catching up with my team and other demonstrators from around New Zealand plus we got to see the **NEW** 2016-2017 catalogue and got to take home some of the new products too!P1080154 Another benefit of these events is the swapping, you make multiples of a project and then swap them for other peoples projects and come home with heaps of different ideas! My swap was a set of Project Life Pocket Style cards.

Cantaloupe Sweet Girl

I love this colour combo – Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Early Espresso! Its a little different for a baby card but its nice to have one thats not just pink. So pleased I actually remembered to use my Large Scallop Edgelit die as this largere scale scallop is perfect for this card and complements the Scallop circle under the matted image. I stamped and cut out the shoe bows from a scrap of Calypso Coral just to make them pop a little more. The Petite Petals flowers are embellished with Rhinestones and some loops of Painted Blooms Cotton Twine – I separated out some strands rather than using the whole thickness just to make it lighter and whispier. Ido so love that Spring flowers Embossing Folder, it works for so many occasions and uses. Take a closer look.

Masked Sunburst

Ok I wasnt quite finished with this Sunburst technique (Just Add Ink Challenge) Ive been kind of inspired by the amazing people who can make gorgeous card using only One Layer. I didn’t quite manage that but my Sunburst pattern is made up of only ONE piece of card and used 3 stamps, 3 sponges,  3 inkpads and 2 sheets of BIG sticky notes.

My daughter even had to run her fingers over the surface to feel it was only one layer but thanks to some nifty stamping, masking and sponging you get an awesome effect. I based the colours on the Pals Paper Arts Colour Challenge 194

PPA194 March 6

The stamp sets I used included two new ones from the Occasions catalogue, Petite Petals and Spiral Spins both of which good choices for the budget conscious and are useful for a variety of cards. I stamped 2 images from the Spiral Spins and one of the flowers from Petite Petals, punched them with corresponding punches then layered then for a very chic effect. The other stamp sets I used were Teeny Tiny sentiments and Papaya Collage.

Bannerifically Cute

Wow its been a exciting  busy and often unsettling few days since I last posted. My eldest daughter has moved away from home to study and was having trouble adjusting so we have had lots of upset but she is finally getting her groove  although she still would rather be at home. My eldest has passed his learners driver s licence so now I have to teach another of my children to drive (Im very proud of him though) And lastly my youngest and myself are back to work and school after the Christmas holidays! Boy will I be glad to see my first paycheck. And People, that’s just the big stuff!!

However I did make time for a little stamping yesterday and made some thank you note for my ladies orders. I used last weeks Try Stamping on Tuesday Sketch as it was so cute and I’d had an idea popping around my brain all week. I combined it with the colours from the Paper Pals Arts challenge just so I could use some Washi tape from the Epic Day This and That pack

I didn’t have any rose Red so substituted Primrose Petals instead. To make the banners I laid down two rows of the striped washi tape on some Whisper White card, offsetting the stripes so the white was beside the grey then Centered the Sale A Bration Reward Banner Punch when the point over the join in the two strips of tape. The flowers are from the stamp set Petite Petals and punched out with the coordinating Petite Petals punch. I sponged the edges of the flowers to soften the starkness of the punched edge and add a little more colour.

Sneak Peek Alert

So as you will know there is a new Stampin’ Up! Supplementary catalogue being released soon (28 Jan) and as you may not know one of the benefits of being a Demonstrator is being able to order new product before it is released to the public. I was able to order some new product earlier this month including this cute set Petite Petals with coordinating punch and then of course make this card.

The dotty pattern along the side is from another new stamp set called Happy Watercolor and so is the sentiment.

I have a pile of these new OCCASIONS catalogues waiting to go in you hot little hands so flick me an email if you would like one moocowgen@ihug.co.nz
