Baby Elephants with a little Mojo

Just a quick post today but it seems like its going to be baby card week as I know a few people who have been blessed of late.

This one  I used the Colour Q combo and Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration.

Glorious Green is one of the old retired colours but I still had a little scrap tucked away and sadly Lucky Limeade, one of the 2010-2012 In Colours, will be retiring when we get a new catalogue June 30th! Inkspirational Elly-phant and CTS Thanks

Hi there It is soooo hot today and I was back at work too which was great! Ok I got busy last night and completed FOUR challenge entries so this will be a long one as I wedge 2 in one post. I tried a new challenge site – Inkspirational that was suggested to me and this week they had a sketch challenge.

And here is what I did with it! I was demonstrating using the  blender pen method to make a  multicoloured image and made this cute wee elephant which was perfect for what I had in mind. Simple but very cute.

 That Elephant which is of course from the limited release exclusive Sale -A-Bration Patterned Occasions stamp set is so stinking cute!! The colourway is quite funky and fun too Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo and Chocolate Chip along with that Fancy Fan embossed Whisper White

And now for challenge two the CAS(e) This Sketch Challenge Now as we know Clean and simple IS a challenge for me but I think I might have aced this one and whats more I made a matching Easel Mini Calender. 

Another couple of SAB sets here Thanks from Vintage Verses and the rest from Bloomin’ marvelous and you can just catch a glimpse of the SAB exclusive Embossing Folder Vine street. Colours are Rich Razzleberry, Calypso Coral (Yeah I do really like it) Soft Suede, Certainly Celery and Pool Party.

 

 

 

Clock Works Elephant cQc173 TSOT102

I’ve had something like this elephant piece in my head since I saw the Clock Works set. I could see the watch bit  as an embroidery hoop and Ive finally tried it out! I even managed to do TWO challenges at the same time Colour Q and Try Stampin on Tuesday

Here was the inspiration:

       

I flipped the sketch around and made it my own but it still has the circle, the banner and the rectangle elements.

My colours were Tangerine Tango (sub for Dusty Durango) Crumb Cake (Kraft), Very Vanilla, Blush Blossom and Early Espresso for detail work.

Gotta love that faux stitching! I even “Back Stitched” the banners to the top of the card, just to make sure they were secure you understand : ) And can see that the elephant is two toned I have done a wee pic tutorial to show you how.

Teacup Ladybugs

While I was mounting up my new Sale – A- Bration stamp set PATTERNED OCCASIONS I noticed that upside down the tea cup looked a bit like a lady bug soooooo………

Using a Real Red marker direct on the stamp I coloured in just the Tea Cup not the words or the steam swirl then gave it a good huff of breath to remoisten the ink and stamped. I then drew on eyes, legs and antennae. I’ve just now realised that to be proper ladybugs I should have coloured in the spots black DUH!!!!

Lucky for me the Dynamic Duos colour combo this week is Real Red and Basic Black AND that I had 32 minutes left to enter the challenge !

Birthday Girl inc. Sneak Peek

My wee girl is off to a birthday party today so I made this card for her to take. I finally did some punch art and have did a wee tutorial for this Birthday Girl which I will post tomorrow. The colour way for this card is Wisteria Wonder, Tempting Turquoise and Primrose Petals. I used two stamp sets for this card, Bring On The Cake AND the cupcake form one of the limited release Sale A Bration sets called Patterned Occassions. I had to break out the Stamp A Ma Jig to get this sentiment right. First I did the B using markers to colour only the B then I worked out where the cupcake was going to go and then using the markers again I colored in only the “rthday” bit and then placed it using the Stamp A Ma Jig. I used the same process to place the “happy” and then added the cupcake which was also stamped using markers coloured directly on the stamp. I had to cut the Dimensionals into smaller strips to fit behind the candle. i tend to use up the edge strips of the sheet doing things like that. And lastly the ribbon is Primrose Petals Satin Stitched Ribbon

Smarty Pants Sneak Peek TSOT 101 SUO 62

We were so pleased to hear my daughter passed her NCEA exams that I couldn’t let the occasion go past without making her a card! I was inspired by a card of Michele Reynolds for the background paper and I used the sketch for the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Challenge AND it also fitted with the SU-Only challenge #62 New Toys. so here is the sketch

And here is my card. Now just in case your wondering what my “NEW” bits were it was my Sale A Bration Stamp Set Patterned Occasions, Spritzer Bottle (which I mixed a few drops of Night of Navy reinker and a little Frost White Shimmer Paint with water) AND a new technique – Kissing. The colours are Midnight Muse, Wisteria Wonder and Bashful Blue with Whisper White

To do the kissing bit All you have to do is ink up a SOLID image with one colour then a line image with another and stamp one onto the other then stamp you solid image Ta da Not just Smarty Pants but Funky pants!! The heart on the Jeans pocket is from part of another image in the Patterned Occasions set which I inked up with marker to stamp. Pretty cool Huh!
