Happy 700

Wow! That is a milestone. This is my 700th post! We have had a very busy day at my house today. My eldest daughter has been to work twice, We got to see Tom Batchelor of XFactor NZ fame  as he played a wee gig for his hometown supporters (see below). And lastly we went to my nieces 5th Birthday party!

So before I show you my nieces card I have to share my daughters pics with the lovely Tom!

Ok Now the card. I have to confess I CASEd this one but  used SU products for my version. I think I might have seen it on Pinterest – addictive little place that it is .

P1020053 (542x640)

The paper is from one of last years packs, the bus is from Every Little Bit (retired last catalogue) and the apple, happy face and heart are from a long retied set called Occasionally.  I did use a a couple of current sets too though, Simply Stars – new in this catalogue – and That’s the ticket plus new colours Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe. Take a closer look at the grouping.P1020054 (477x640)

Cards - General, Cards Masculine, Punch Art, Sweet treat ideas

Dont miss out on these great products

There is only a week left to order the items still on your wishlist from the 2009-2010 Idea Book and Catalogue! Have you got ink refills for your retiring ink pad colours and stocked up on your favourite retiring cardstock and DSP?

On Sunday I held a Masculine cards class and I justcouldnt help using a couple of my retiring favourites.

I havent used the Sweet Treat cups for ages so it was fun creating this balloon card with them. Purple isn’t usually a colour you associate with Men but it works so well with this paper from Autumn Traditions DSP in the mini.

I used the wee tie from Occasionally to create the middle card with a colour combo of Baja Breeze, Taken with Teal (Oh how I will miss you!), Elegant Eggplant and Kiwi Kiss (just using up my last few sheets boo hoo)

The last card is a fun punch art tool bag card. Soft Suede is just the perfect colour for the worn leather-look bag. After much trial and error I managed to create these tools using the Large Oval, 1 3/4″ and 1 3/8″ Circles with the addition of some strips to for the handles. All of these cards were based on designs I was while surfing if they are your design thank you for the inspiration and please leave a comments so due credit can be given to you.

Remember most of the ribbons are retiring too so if you want any of the ones I have used better get in quick! They are the Soft Suede Spotted Grosgrain, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red striped Grosgrain.

Email me! to place your order.

Saturdays Scrapbooking Class – Book now

There are still spaces available for this Saturdays Beginning Scrapbooking Class! So Email me! to find out more or book your space now. Cost is $20 and it starts at 1pm in Leeston. Heres a sneak peek of one of the layouts we will be making using the Cottage Wall DSP from the Winter mini catalogue. remember you can download this from the link on the RHS of my blog.

And here is another layout I have just completed for my girls album.

Cute little watercoloured babies from a retired SU set added a special touch to this desing which was part of a Swap Sisters Scrapbooking Challenge. Lots of squares makes for an effective layout and a great way to use up all those scraps of Patterned paper and cardstock that seem to accumulate so quickly. I varied the makeup of the squares but kept the uniform 2″ size. The wee flower on the background is from Occassionally and most of the DSP squares are cut from Washington Apple.

The flowers are called Dahlia Fold I think and were much easier to create than I thought they would be.  they are made from folded circles and I did them in two different sizes. The littel ones were from a 3/4″ circle and were quite fiddly but well worth it……

Scrapbooking

This one ROXX

Did you like the title? It kinda goes with the page really.

I was so pleased with the way this page turned out. It was based on a sketch from my Swap Sisters Group challenge. I used the Slit punch to create the scallop borders in black and white. The matting colour is Baja Breeze and I used a random bit of paper for the photo base in rd, blue and white. I didnt like the white space around the frame so after looking at it for a while I decided to pick up the flower motif from the paper and stamp in Basic Black the line flower from Occassionally to add some interest to the white. Much better!!

Heres a little Easter present for you. Once a upon a time I bought some Elephant Snot, YES Elephant Snot! Once the children ate it all I pulled the box to bits and used it as a template to remake the box. Now I have resized the box so it fits more and here are the instructions for my Candy Dispenser Box.
