Cards - Get Well and Sympathy, Challenges, My Digital Studio

MDS Monday Duo

Hi folks as you all probably know there is only another week left of Sale a Bration …Shock …Horror… you had all forgotten hadn’t you! But I haven’t and I wanted to share with you a card I made for the MDS Monday Challenge using the new Dynamic Duos Combo which is actually a threesome this week. Part of the MDSM challenge was to change the colour of  your DSP so just to show the versatility of My Digital Studio I did. I used the One Big Sale A Bration 2014 Digital Ensemble ( my first SAB freebie, Ya gotta love FREE) and changed the papers to suit the colours of the DD Challenge.

Stitched with Love MDSM54

I have spent the last week or so sunk knee-deep in Paperwork but tonight I abandoned all that to the corner to CREATE! Of course I had a big sort out of papers today and my work top is very tidy for me so I don’t want to mess it up before I get back down to it tomorrow. Instead I created digitally using the MDS Monday card sketch as my inspiration. I actually really love this one and will probably give it a go traditionally too.

So I added the Decorative Dots (SAB download) as a layer over the base card and gave it a drop shadow so it looks like embossing. I used SAB brush sets, See Ya Later and Banner Blast. I cropped the heart off the top of the sentiment and added Black layers behind the banners and the two smaller ones have a coloured layer the same size behind them too. My Stitches embellishments came in handy to frame the Smoky Slate paper (Sweet Sorbet DSP – SAB download) and to “stitch” down the twine over the banners. The final touch was a diamante over the O in love.

“Brilliant use of the sketch with the new Wishing You download release. I just love the stack of packages on the stack of strips and how Lisa embellished the sentiment! ” ~Heidi

How exciting is that! What a great way to start the day. This card was also chosen for the NZSU Picks of the week.

MDS of course stands for My Digital Studio

MDS Baby Page and fun offer

Hi folks I cant believe its been nearly a whole month since I posted and the silly thing is I have so many new projects I could have shared if only I had had the time to sit down and post! We are nearly through the first week of the school holidays and although I planned nothing in hopes that I would get a good break I still seem to be quite busy. It seems to be a time of change and excitement in our household at the moment and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us.

As you will have read I was at Dunkleys craft Show here in Christchurch last month and I did some work with MDS (My Digital Studio) our fabulous Digital crafting Programme. So here is one of the scrapbook pages I created and the poster I made to advertise the 30 day free trial. I have to admit the scrapbook page was a template so that made it really easy : )

Christmas Gingham

I boobed up my last post and it has been posted out-of-order but if you want to check out my MDS Monday challenge post (and I really think you should) click here  or scroll down to August 8 post. Now for your inspiration! Some Gingham Christmas. I love this card in a naive country kind of style I coloured the star gold with our gold markers which I now see have retired BUT your star would look even better if you gold embossed it! The stars I stamped on the background just didn’t stand out that well so i outlined them with Soft Suede marker which IS still in the catalogue. The sentiment I printed out using MDS is from Holly Jolly Christmas. The cardbase was Soft Suede and it gives a good idea of the difference between it and Baked Brown Sugar which I used for the tree trunk.  The gingham tree strips are of course  Coastal Cabana

P1020011 (489x640)

Card number two also used Coastal Cabana plus Strawberry Slush. I wheeled the Strawberry Slush vertcally and the Coastal Cabana diagonally to create this tartan kind of pattern. I die cut a tree out of Pistachio Pudding, embossed it with the Perfect Polka dots folder and mounted it over the gingham piece using dimensionals onto a Strawberry Slush card base. Cute Huh!

X factor star meets MDSMonday

The MDS Monday scrap sketch #25 ends this Friday so Im just squeaking in with this entry.  Over the weekend we were lucky enough to go see Tom Batchelor of X Factor New Zealand Fame! Leeston where I live is Tom’s home town and he was here to visit his family but took time out to visit and play at both my girls’ schools on Friday. Then On Saturday He braved the cold and damp to play at the local market as a thank you for the support he had gotten from the Community. What a guy! Anyway here is a quick layout I put together using the sketch and photos from the day.

51577543bI used: Daring Adventure and Certified Stamp Brush Sets; Delightful Digital Tape ; Venetian Romance DSP and lots of Text! We needed to include numbers and mine are very small I added the date into  the “authentic” stamp. Hope that counts or maybe I could pretend the X is a roman numeral ………. : O

Here is the sketch:

My Digital Studio, Scrapbooking, Simply Pressed Clay

Barbies Big Adventure Layout

As some of you know I got my first Barbie Doll for my 40th Birthday last year and she came on a trip with me to Rotorua ( I wanted her to be well travelled). She had her photo taken in a few spots around Rotorua although I didnt want her to get too close to the hot pools in case she melted. I waited 40 years for her you know! Anyway it was her photos I pulled out to showcase some of the new products. Namely the Gingham Standard Wheel, Simply Pressed Clay Blossoms, Gingham Garden DSP and new In Colours Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana. Apologies for the flash spot on the photo : )

P1010911 (611x640) I also used the fern from Everything Eleanor, MDS to do the title  ( in another new colour Bermuda Bay), Tea Lace Paper Doilies and Wisteria Wonder Ink and Card stock (so glad this colour gets to stay : ) oops forgot my trusty Paper piercer, I used that too!

I found the DSP I used wasnt quite right  (only found that out AFTER I had stuck everything down, as the light changed GRRRR) so I used Pistachio Pudding and a sponge to alter the colour of the paper. Magic. I also used them to sponge colour onto the Doilies which are white.

I showed Barbie and she quite liked her page especially the flowers which were coloured with Elegant Eggplant and Wisteria Wonder Inks.
