Grungy Bunny

I had to make a quick birthday card for my daughter’s friend and I had seen this awesome background made with Gorgeous Grunge and some fun bright colours. I used the Happy Birthday from Cottage Greetings set which has such a lovely font. The bunny is from Made With Love I trimmed off the greeting part of that stamp so I could use it separately. I used Smoky Slate ink and an Aqua Painter Pen to add color to the bunny, details were added with Pink Pirouette Marker.

Made With Love Tied with a Bow

Yes folks I have used Flash Card 2.0 pieces again – so quick and easy when they are just sitting there waiting for me to pick them up! P1050117

The rabbit was stamped on the white piece and then cut out from it carefully leaving the outer edges in uncut. When you have the onesie stuck on you wont even know there is a space under there. As you can see there is no “hoppy little baby” sentiment beside the rabbit. I decided the stamp would be more useful if I trimmed the sentiment off. I can still pop it back in place if I want to use it but it sure does make inking up the rabbit easier if I don’t have it attached.

Here are some instructions:

  • Use the Scallop Tag Topper punch to shape each end of the Whisper White Strip then cut it at about 4 cm from one end.
  • Stamp the sentiment on the small piece and then add a star at each end of it.
  • Stamp the rabbit in the middle of the larger piece of white, punch or poke a hole through close to the rabbit to allow you to get your scissors in to cut around him out without having to cut up the outer cardstock.
  • Stamp the onesie on the coloured piece of card and fussy cut it out and glue the Rabbit in place. Add colour to the nose and upright ear.
  • Glue the onesie onto the top tag and add single stars and solid stars as a background.
  • Stamp the rabbit all over the Card Front
  • Use Dimensionals to mount both of the tag pieces on the card front aligning the cut end with edge of the card. Leave the scalloped tips with no Dimensionals so you can thread some ribbon through to tie them together. I used Whisper White 1/4″ cotton ribbon.
  • Add a tiny rhinestone to each of the bigger stars. Done!

Flash Onesie

P1050124

This one started out being a Flash Card but I ended up having to mount it on a card base because I just could get it quite right. I had trimmed the Very Vanilla piece narrower by 1/2″ to use for the sentiment which also made the coloured piece wide enough to do a torn edge on each side. I used the small spotty  image to make the border strip on the right and to add some interest to the onesie too. The faux stitching really brought it all together.

Introducing Made with Love

138662GMade With Love is such a cute stamp set that I knew I had to have it as soon as I saw it. It is a more expensive set but it does have 20.. YES…. 20 images in it covering small accents, lots of sentiments, cute animals and a couple of onesies – which fit the Babies First Framelits but are easy enough to fussy cut. And being photopolymer you can easily see through them to add any of the images to the front of the onesies. I used Flash Card pieces to make this card and used a square framelit to cut a window. For this card the Very Vanilla piece is behind the coloured piece which is popped up on dimensionals.

So cute

Diagonal Flash Cards

I had an enquiry for instructions on how to create the Diagonal Flash Card from my Flash Birds post a few days ago so I did a wee photo tutorial which you can download below. Here are another couple of samples using this cut.

P1050183

The one above uses the Made with Love Stamp set and the colours from the TGIF Challenge Pool Party, Basic Grey and Daffodil Delight. I used Markers to outline each of the small images which is a great way to add colour if you don’t like colouring in. I did have to add the tiny bit of white for the little banner but otherwise its all Flash Card pieces.

Here is another one but instead of neutral card for the top layer I used some DSP and used the same outlining method to do the background pattern. The white borders cover my little boo boo and I used the leftover strip for cutting the neutral pieces of the Flash cards. Here is the PDF for this technique. Flash Card Diagonal Cut – Flash Birdies Enjoy!

I Kind of CASED this one from the Card using Blended Bloom on page 114. It is a great design that could used in a number of ways. The Blackberry Bliss one uses Sprinkles of Life and the Cucumber Crush one uses another of my new sets called Made With Love.

How cute is this wee deer! And there is that gorgeous Cherry paper again. To get the water coloured look to the baby suit I quickly ran over the stamped lines with a Blender Pen (p 163 of the catalogue) then I deepened the stripes by using the Inkpad squeeze method. Squeeze the inkpad while its closed and then open the ink pad and the should be a smudge of ink on the lid. Pick up a little of the ink and scribble it on the lid and colour the stripes. I used this method to colour the deer as well.
