Cheerful Critters Latch Card

I revisited this awesome retired set, Cheerful Critters, to make this card for my nieces birthday recently. The tutorial I used for this Latch Card was from Splitcoaststampers, you can find it here.

P1050154The gorgeous birthday candles paper is from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack ( # 138443 page 144 $17.00). I water coloured all the cutesy animals with Stampin’ Write Markers which I scribbled on an acrylic block and picking up the colour with an Aquapainter. The words on the front are from Crazy about You and inside is a gorgeous one from the  Cottage Greetings set.

We are counting down now to September 1st when the new Holiday catalogue goes live.  My supply of these has just arrived so if you would like to get your hands on one of these then leave me a comment or flick me an email at moocowgen@ihug.co.nz

Freestanding Building Blocks Card

I was asked to make a special card for a wee man turning to 3 so I thought and thought and came up with something almost as special as he is.

P1040641 This doesn’t quite fit into a standard envelope but that didn’t matter too much. The blocks fold up so the card can go flat. I added a background just pick up the colours a bit and add some interest.  P1040642

Teddy Bear Wishes

How cute is this chap! The great thing is he was super easy to create and I got to use my new Bow Builder Punch. I based my card on one by Joni Andaya. She had a girly version too so I might have to try that one day soon too. The eyes are 1/2″ circles (I think?? or maybe it was the small circle from that triple pack of punches we had) The nose is the large oval which I double punched to shorten up the length. It is higlighted with some tiny double punched 1/2″ white circles. The muzzle was one of the Oval Framelit dies which trimmed shorter athe bottom “point” to round it out.

Kidsfest Stationery Case

Kidsfest happens every July School holidays here in Canterbury It is sponsored largely by  TV2, The Press, MORE FM, Canterbury Community Trust, Singapore Airlines and co-ordinated by the Christchurch City Council on behalf of the KidsFest Charitable Trust  You can find the Kidsfest page here I have run Kidsfest classes for the last three years and as I said yesterday have already run one in Leeston and one in Darfield leaving only next Wednesdays class in Rolleston which still has a few spaces left if you are interested.

Here is the project we are doing. This one is my daughters one and being left handed she customized it so it would open HER way!

And inside there is a pad, pen, 2 book markers, calendar and 2 note cards in their wee pockets. I do love that Every little Bit Stamp set and I cant part with it even if it has retired. Its fabulous for doing kids classes!!! I got lucky with those calendars as I found a printable one that ran from July 2013 – Sept 2014  and like the pad they can be taken out and replaced when they are used up. These make great wee travel kits as I found out on the way home from class with my daughter and niece who both had their cases open on their knees scribbling away. You could even add a pack of coloured pencils  and a puzzle book or bigger drawing padP1020007 (640x513)

Birthday toot with Thomas cards

Thomas the tank Engine is always a favorite with little boys and two of my wee friends are no different!  I paper pieced and punched two of the same little Thomas’ and then added them to different fancy fold cards.

The first one is an easel style card and sits up against the tracks to hold the easel in place. I didn’t have a stone type image for the gravel under the tracks so I used the rubber on the end of a  pencil. Worked pretty well huh! I hand cut the grass border too.

Number two was a side double step card with Thomas on the front step and the train house  on the back one. Thought it looked a bit bare on the side so I added the stop go lights and then a strip of Attic Boutique paper across the base. Both cards use the Birthday sentiment from Petite Pairs which is a great set as it covers lots of occasions AND has a matching sentiment for inside the card. Check it out on page 105 of the Idea Book and Catalogue.
