The Masked Butterfly

Hi folks just wanted to share the card demo’d at my party on Wednesday. It used a few techniques, Masking, sponging and collaged stamps. I love the effect and the sponging is so simple but looks really effective. You might remember I use it on this card back in January when I first played with my In This World stamp set.

Its a fun wee Z type fold.

Butterfly Circles

I saw a similar card recently but cant find it again to credit the maker now. I thought it was such a visually effective card that I had to CASE it too. I do have an original idea now and then in case you are wondering but I am also inspired by the beautiful work other crafters produce. I do like to try an acknowledge where the inspiration came from but sometimes that not possible.

I’ve used In this World again and also Timeless Textures and for the Sentiment Love Sparkles.

I coloured the butterflies using Blender Pens and my ink pads. All you have to do is gently squeeze your ink pad when it is closed to transfer some ink to the inside of the lid and then use it like a palette to pick up the ink with the Blender Pen.

 

Grandads Medals

I set myself the task of using the In This world Stamp Set to do a scrapbook page and I’m pretty pleased with how it came out. Not my usual style so another step outside of my comfort zone too.

Im still figuring out this “cluster” business but I think they look alright. Its finding the right way to combine them and have them looked layered and balanced.

Got a bit heavy handed with the red sprinkles from Gorgeous Grunge but otherwise not a bad layout. Did you notice that the patterned paper is actually from ” This Christmas Specialty DSP” pack? There are some great patterned papers in there that could be used for other occasions too so dont forget about those Christmas papers.

Merry Christmas to me

I finally got around to playing with the stamp set my lovely upline Jacque sent me for Christmas. It is called In This World (Clearmount #142652 $42.00 or Wood Mount #141946 $59.00) and has a great mix of images.

I CAS(E)d a catalogue example from before I started with Stampin’ Up! in 2009. It is a quick card to put together and a useful layout to keep in mind.

The original card had a ribbon border but I’m a bit lacking in current ribbon that matched so I substituted the border from the Flourish Thinlits Dies # 141478 $59.00
