Sugared Pistachio Tag It

Today I am sharing some cards I made as thank you gifts for some of my ladies. I used a new stamp set called Tag It which is especially great because $3.50 from every set sold in NZ goes to Ronald McDonald House Charities so check out the Tag It set on page 45 of the Annual Catalogue.  I also love that this set can be used with the Chalk Talk Framelits as well. They are certainly on my wishlist.

I love how these two new In-Colours, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar, go together! I masked off the sentiments on the chameleon stamp with cellotape while I was inking the stamp up then peeled them away before stamping the image. This meant I could add a different sentiment. I used one from Sweet Essentials.

P1020059 (480x640)I tried the Honeycomb embossed piece upside down as well just for a different effect that you can see more clearly in this photo and below I used another new folder, Alphabet Press, for another effect. I cut the tags using the Labels Framelit dies to shape the top and then corner rounded the bottom corners. My trusty paper piercer added detail around the tags along with a template from the Festive Paper Piercing Pack

Triple Tri Fold Pocket Mini Album

I got this idea from Kelly Gettelfinger’s Tri Fold Triple Pocket Mini Album  Now as we all know Im too cheap to pay for what I can figure out for my self. Hers is made from a  sheet of 12X12 card but I didnt have enough of any one colour (note to self:  BUY MORE 12X12 card) SO I put my thinking cap on and figured out how to make it from an A4 sheet instead! Viola one pretty cool project for 6 10 year olds!

I did one for myself using Strawberry Slush Cardstock and Gingham Garden DSP and the girls used some retired paper and Night of Navy Card.

For my one I decorated with a gorgeous Simply Pressed clay flower and used the Labels framelits to cut my tags. Now take a look inside

Vintage Gorgeousness

I went all out for this one! I finally got round to using my Alpha rubons only to realise that we dont even sell them anymore LOL.

My favourite paper at the moment is the Attic Boutique one from the Autumn Winter Mini and its colours went so beautifully with the photos. Although they are hard to see in the photo i used a lot of the pearls on the blob ends of the swirls. The Little Leaves die cuts were embossed with the Square Lattice folder. I found it was a good idea to leave them in the negative die cut when i embossed them or the pressure separated some of the leaves from the stem : (  I cut them in both Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla for contrast and then the Swirls Scribbles Sizzlit die with Pool Party. Very yummy

I used the Labels Framelits again this is the biggest size which i cut in half and then embossed using the Vintage wallpaper embossing folder which is sponged with Soft Suede ink. I added some layered and shaped flowers punched from with the many petaled flower in the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, they just added the finishing touch.

Funky Teen Page

zoe dance layout (772x800)

My daughter has a style all her own and I always worry when I do pages for her that it wont meet her tastes but she thought this one was ok. Good Ok i think. She is my go to girl to see if a card or project hits the right note!

I went real clean and simple for this one I had very little paper that would go well with the theme and photos so just ended up making my own using the Starburst Stampin’ Around Wheel and some sponged 1 3/4” circles in Lucky Limeade, Poppy Parade and Concord Crush. i broke out the Pennants again but did theme in Basic Black and Whisper White.  I used the Labels Framelits Dies to shape one edge of the journaling box and Title mat. Clean and Simple

Today I am going to share the two cards I demo’d at my In Home workshop last week focusing on DSP and the Labels Framelits dies. We had a fun night crafting and talking together, what better way to spend a cold almost Winter night! The first card I demonstrated, I almost straight out CASED from Mickey Roberts. I have been going to try doing one of these ….umm….half cut die fancy Z fold cards. LOL not sure what its actually called! I also wanted to use my brand new BRIGHT BLOSSOMS stamp set from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue. Must say I am enjoying using it. This Paper is from the Big Top DSP pack.

The second card is the one everyone got to make! I showed two versions a basic one and one I had jazzed up a bit. The papers i used in this one were from the Attic Boutique DSP pack in the Autumn Mini Catalogue. and the stamps are from the Kindness Matters Stamp set. The ladies mostly decided to add the cut out butterflies to their basic cards too.

Cards - Birthday, Cards - General, Simply Scored

Birthday Windmill Card

Ive been wanting to try a windmill on a card for ages and Ive finally done it. I had an idea about using the Scallop Square die but wasnt happy with the result then Miss 15 ” Mum that looks stupid! I can make an origami one” so she taught me how to do it. Nice.

I based this card on one I had seen out there in cyber space but made a few changes to make it my own. I used some retired, stamps, paper and ribbon plus the NEW Framelits dies and Adorning Accents Embossing Borders, Embosslits button die and Peach Parfait Ribbon.

The other tool I used was my favourite new tool, The Simply Scored Tool, to make the pleated ruffle along the bottom of the card. I used a skewer for the windmill stick and wrapped it with ribbon. Im really quite pleased with the way this came out all quite vintagey and girly at the same time!
