Build A Birthday Fancy Hat

Me again. Here is another Build A Birthday card and definitely not a cake!

I tried a File Folder card in Watermelon Wonder, the front is covered using some of the new In Colour Envelope Paper. This is a much lighter weight than our DSP and obviously suited for making envelopes but also works for layering on cards. This is in the Tip Top Taupe colour as is the Dotted Lace.

TIP: I trimmed off the top edge of the lace, coiled it to add a wee touch behind the flower  and gathered the rest onto the bottom of the image panel.

The great thing about Photopolymer stamps is you can reshape them into curves and I did this a little with the cake stand stamp I used for the hat. You can tell its a hat can’t you???

TIP 2: To add the striped ribbon on the hat I lightly stamped the cake stand on the back of a piece of white card, cut around the lower edge of the foot piece to get the scallop then on the blank side stamp the stripe candle piece and trim to length before gluing on the “hat”.

The flower was made by “faux suedeing” 2 X 7/8″ scallop circles and layering them. Cute huh! The sentiment of course from my fav sentiment set ever Crazy About You!

***Something Sparkly***

Ya cant go past Something Sparkly can ya! Yvonne sparkled up some votive candle holders for me which went great with the scented tealights in an earlier gift. I had to break out one of my antique table cloths to photograph them on….

I sent Yvonne this mini file folder which had a very sparkly front.I mixed dazzling Diamonds and Clear embossing Powder about half and half then wiped a Versamark Pad over the front of the folder and heat embossed the spakrly embossing powder on. Gorgeous!! I used a tutorial to make this folder but cant locate it for the creator right now but thanks to that clever person.  Have a look inside…..
