The Masked Butterfly

Hi folks just wanted to share the card demo’d at my party on Wednesday. It used a few techniques, Masking, sponging and collaged stamps. I love the effect and the sponging is so simple but looks really effective. You might remember I use it on this card back in January when I first played with my In This World stamp set.

Its a fun wee Z type fold.

Dont forget to place your SAB qualifying orders before the 31st.

Make the Most of these Deals!

olo-main_onlineex_nov2116_sp_ukOur Online Extravaganza begun today and I wanted to make a card using some of the products that are featured. I also wanted to have a go at these Fancy Fold Pivot/Twist and Pop Up cards.

twist-and-popup-card

Not great photography but you get the idea : ) I used the In Colour Enamel Shapes which are featured in today’s Enamel Shape Bundle and the Playful Palette DSP Stack which is featured in the Flash Sale on the 28th. I also used my Brand New Stitched Shapes Framelit Dies for all the squares. Even though they aren’t in the Online Extravaganza I have to say they are pretty awesome and a great way to get a variety of shape dies without having to buy all the sets.

Freestanding Building Blocks Card

I was asked to make a special card for a wee man turning to 3 so I thought and thought and came up with something almost as special as he is.

P1040641 This doesn’t quite fit into a standard envelope but that didn’t matter too much. The blocks fold up so the card can go flat. I added a background just pick up the colours a bit and add some interest.  P1040642

Sprinkles of Life Day 3 Two cards one design

I had two go’s at this card design just because I liked it so much! They are both so cute and use the Tree Builder Punch and Sprinkles of Life.P1040902

These cards are a bit smaller than the usual A5 fold. You can get 3 from each A4 sheet. just cut across the sheet at 9.5, 19 and 28.5cm to create the 3 cards. Score at 14 cm to create front flap. You need two mats – front 6.5 X9 cm and inside 13.5 X 9 cm. Here is version 2 using the basket of flowers.

Double Twisted Easel Card Tutorialblog hop banner-001

Welcome! If you didnt arrive from Kathe Oldham at The JorjaRose Files then make sure you click all the way through to see all the great projects featuring our Favourite Products that are retiring from the Stampin’ Up! catalogue.

My projects feature the retiring set Today and Everyday which is one of my favourites. I used it to make my Mum’s Mothers Day Card and try a new Fancy Fold called a Double Twisted Easel.

P1040751

I used the super word set Crazy About You from the  Occasions Catalogue for the sentiments and leaf stamping. The DSP is also from the Occasions catalogue and is called Painted Blooms. The card colours are Crisp Cantaloupe and Baked Brown Sugar.  I’m quite sad to see these 2013-2015 In Colours going as they were real favourites with me. And it’s too late now to get any more as the Cardstock is all gone : (

Take a closer look at the two display fronts. One is very clean and simple but the other has been coloured, fussy cut and layered to make it 3D and Crumb Cake seam binding threaded through some punched holes. I was this technique on a card by Sandi Hartka

P1040753

I also added a touch of gold with my Stampin’ Dazzle Gold Marker (retiring) and used my Stampin’ Write Markers to colour the lanterns.

I’ve put together a tutorial for you for the Double Twisted Easel Card so give it a go. Double Twisted Easel Card Tutorial

Here are some wee Notecards I made too

2 Special People

Recently 2 very special people we know formerly dedicated themselves to each other after 27 years together. It was a very special occasion for them and their whanau and I was honoured to be a part of it. So obviously it had to be a very special card as well.

P1040589

I used a Screen card design using the Bloom with Hope Hostess Set stamped on a newsprint paper and carefully coloured with my trusty Stampin’ Write markers. The Something to Say Stamp set had the perfect sentiments – 2 Great People – 1 Great Life which is exactly what I wanted to say! The base card has been stamped tone on tone using the Hardwood Background Stamp

I will leave you with one of the beautiful table settings and say Thank you Sonny and Tina for sharing this very special day with us.

Sale-A-Bration: Creative Inkers Blog Hop

SAB bannerEveryone loves a good Blog Hop! So grab a cuppa and take a wander through our Teams’ fabulous posts with great projects made using products only available as Sale-A-Bration Benefits.

At the end of the post is a complete list of the Blog Hop’s stops just in case you get lost otherwise just click your way through using the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons.

I couldnt decide which of my new Sale-A-Bration sets to use, would it Lotus Blossom or You Brighten My Day so I used BOTH! I tried out a different style Fancy Fold too, its called a Triangle Joyfold.P1030926

The Lotus Blossom one is 5″ square finished size and uses Crumb Cake card base with Soft Sky and Blackberry Bliss Card plus papsers from the new Painted Blooms DSP. I finally jumped on the Sequin band wagon and got some Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, not sure I like it as a border but I sure do like that you cake pop single ones off to use as bling!

P1030913

All folded up – dont the stem stamps make a great frame?P1030914

Opened all the way up and finally a close up of the front stamping. Using the white craft ink on the step 1 stamp on the Crumb cake is so effective!

P1030910

Now the You Brighten My Day card is 4″ Square. I based the colour combo on the SAB colours so  Hello Honey, Calypso Coral and Bermuda Bay with Soft Sky,  and Early Espresso.

P1030916 P1030920Close up of the front using one of the buttons from the SAB packP1030919

How cool is the background paper? I made that using markers and the Hearts and Stars Decorative Masks. Just lay the mask over the area to be covered and squiggle the marker back and forth or cross hatch in the template cut out.

Hop back to the lovely Delys or onward to clever Heather and check back next Monday the 26th at 8 pm for our team Ocassions Catalogue Blog Hop!

Christmas, Gift

Holiday Sticky Note Holder

I attended a training day with Stampin’ Up! recently and took along this wee cutie as a swap. I resized a fancy fold card to fit a sticky note pad. I used two different stamp sets Holiday Home and Get Your Santa On along with some paper from Nordic Noel Designer Series Paper!  Cute huh!

Nativity Scene Punch Art

This is a card I made to enter in our local A&P Show (Agricultrual and Pastoral for those of you who didnt know). Lucky for me I got First Prize for it. I hadnt done any punch art in ages so this was fun! I also got to use a Fancy Fold I enjoyed last Christmas too, the double gate fold. Its amazing what you can do with a few punches, some card, sponges and some markers

Fancy Goose

I did this one a wee while ago but never got round to posting it at the time. It is one of my favourites. I love the colours Crisp Cantaloupe and Early Espresso with touches of Pistachio Pudding with the Wetlands Stamp set. Sound good enough to eat!

P1020740

I havent finished the front with a sentiment yet but will put it on the horizontal panel.

P1020743 P1020741

Still not sure I will ever part with this one but its a fun wee fold so give it a go.
