Varicolour and BIG buttons Page

A nice simple Scrapbook page I made using the DIY Varicolour ink pad I showed you yesterday and the In Stitches Stampin Around Wheel. I used Night of Navy, Melon Mambo and So Saffron reinkers on the wipes then inked up my roller on it and wheeled up the page. Then I just added Melon Mambo matted photos and punched strip of Night of Navy for the edge. Still have to do Title and journalling but Im on a roll so look out for more scrapbooking pages in the near future!

Here are so close ups of the stamped detail and giant buttons.To make the giant buttons I used a retired scallop circle die. I backed the DSP onto a thickness of Cardstock to give it some body then die cut it. You could use punched layers and stick them together to get the desired thickness.

The Next step was to make the holes. i lined the scallops up using my Mat Pack piercing sheet and then using the Paper Piercer I poked a line of holes around the centre two circles until I could pop the centres out. Ta daa Giant Buttons.

You could make them glossy with a coat of  Crystal Effects. I added some “paper thread” to “sew” them on to the page. Sadly my Eyelet Lace Border punch was harmed in the creating of this page, It will be missed!

vvvvv Very Vintage Vogue

Gotta say I LOVE this set and matching Wheel and I have used them together on this Layout which is the second one we are doing at todays class.

I thought it was very elegant done in the black and White with once accent colour (Certainly Celery) This was an ESAD sketch challenge I never got to do but it that I really liked. I added Crystal Effects to the butterfly images which are cut from a piece of Whisper White rolled with the Very Vintage jumbo wheel . That Top Note Die cut worked really well for a journalling block and doubles as an accent too.

The Circles for my  Hat Box were cut with the Circle Scissor Plus. And together with some strips of Pink Pirouette, Whisper White and more Razzleberry  I created this design. I also used the crimper and Eyelet Border Punch too.

Two for one

Opps didnt get the scrapbook page posted yesterday so you get to see that AND my new ATC card. This weeks theme was pick a colour! Well I seemed to have a lot of brown scraps on top of my pile so BROWN it was.

I have used Chocolate Chip, Kraft and Soft Suede cardstock.  Creamy Caramel, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip Ink. Then Markers to highlight the flowers. Dazzling Diamonds to higlight the table and me with a smidgeon on the card. Soft Suede ribbon. Thin strips of card to thread button and the Boho Blossom Tag. Stamp Sets are Echoes of Kindness and Organic Grace. The Eyelet Border trim along the  side was made by punching Soft Suede then wetting, scrunching it lots, flattening it out  and then drying the card strip. For the Button I cut it 4 times from new Buttons die then layered it up  and covered it in Crystal Effects for a hig gloss finish. Not bad huh!

Next heres a sneak look at a layout I did on my little girl. Im not showing you the whole thing as I would like to keep this one private but I doo love my little jellybean laying chicken.

I used the large Oval and BohoBlossom big flower to make chickies head with the crown made out of smallest Boho flower and the beak is the smallest heart from Heart to Heart. The feet and legs are also made from the largest of the Boho Blossoms too. The body is 1 3/4″ Circle with the wing being half of a butterfly. Simple when you know how! Hope everyone had a great Easter and is enjoying the school holidays.

When I went to the scrapbooking retreat a couple of weeks  ago there was a wee competition to create our own name tags. I went quite vintage with mine using a retired set called Natural Beauty (but Friends 24/7 would be suitable too) and added some other bits and pieces to come up with this.

I used the 1 3/4 inch circle punch to punch out the bird then cut  a slightly bigger circle using the Circle Scissor. the colours are kraft and Night of Navy with Chocolate chip Ink. I used a wee bit of Bella Bleu paper to stamp the background on and inked the lace with a sponge too. Of course you can see the border along the bottom with the eyelet border punch, so pretty that one! Im working on a wee bit of punch art to share later in the week but have a scrapbook page or tow up my sleeve for tomorrow.

And now for something completely different

Last night I did a mini challenge with  my Swap Sisters – a Vintage Style Shipping Tag! It had to use 4 techniques, have 2 3D embellishments, ribbon or lace and words or a sentiment. I used a retired set from SU which has a lovely vintagy feel similar to Friends 24/7 in the current IBC. My techniques were sponging, punching, embossing and dazzling diamonds. I added the brad and popped up the bird and word Hope on Dimensionals (gotta love those things) and off course the fibres. To give you an idea of the size I made my tag 3″x6″. The cardstock colours are Kraft, Very Vanilla and Kiwi Kiss. And here is the finished result….

Coming soon and something for the meantime

Hi people I have been asked how to make up the barn and animals from my previous post so I am going to work on a “how to” over the next couple of days.

In the meantime here is a double page layout. Shock horror! I do actually still turn out the odd Scrapbook page you know and this one has some punch art on it too. I have fuzzed out the faces to protect the innocent (and not so innocent) and havent added the journalling yet but you get the idea

Punch art ball, bat and wickets; Christmas tree and presents with pretty bows. The bottom of tree is made with the round tab punch. The great background paper is from the Tall Tales DSP and I used scrap bits for the punch art. The tree is made of trimmed strips using the Eyelet Lace border punch. I had forgotten my 1/2 circle punch so I ended up using the slit punch to cut the ball shapes.  I used the corner punch to make the scalloped edge around the circle piece and photo mat too.  Think outside the box when it comes to using your punches!

Corrosive Christmas Pudding!

I found the Corrosive challenge again and RED and GREEN it is this week so here’s mine

I used Spotlight on Christmas, Short& Sweet and NEW Wagon full of fun stamp sets

Here is the recipe for this cute wee Chirstmas pudding:

Cut out only the cupcake case

1X brown 1” circle for pudding

1 X White 1” circle trimmed in wavy line to form custard/icing

1 small 3 leaf holly – cut topmost leaf off

3 dots left over from punched Eyelet Border for holly berries

Now go make yourself some budget NO calorie Christmas Puddings!

I have just learnt how to make the Bag in a Box. It is so cool!! and very easy once you figure out how.Make them as plain or fancy as you like.

• 1. Cut a base of 4 1/2″ square score at 1″ in from every edge and crease
• 2. At each corner make a snip along one of the sides of the small square formed by the scoring, only as far as the scored inner square to form a flap at each corner for gluing the base together. And then glue  in place to form tray base
• 3. Cut a piece 5 1/2″ X 11” of patterned paper to fit around the base.  Add tape around the outside each of the base or the inside lower edge of the patterned paper
• 4. Add a strip of tape up the inside of one of the 5 1/2″ sides
• 5.     Remove tape from lower edge and adhere patterned paper to tray base midway across the back starting with the edge WITHOUT the tape on. Remove the side edge tape when you have it wrapped round and stick together.
• 6.   Cut a strip long enough to go around the base of the tray   part. Cut one edge with a border punch if desired and adhere in place
• 7.    Punch out 2 Round tabs, scallop circles or any other similar punch that can be folded in half symetrically add tape and stick in place on Centre front and back of bag. Punch a hole with Horizontal slit or normal hole punch to thread ribbon through to close after you have filled the bag.

I usually stay well away from ORANGE but I was feeling brave and I wanted to use this lovely paper from the Washington Apple Pack. I made a matching card using nearly all DSP which is again something out of the ordinary for me. I do love double sided paper, it makes life so much easier. The red double stitched look paper is the other side of the floral. I stamped and cut out the butterfly from Great Friend which has been a wonderful set I will be sad to see it be retired on November 30th. Baby gift wrapping solutions

I have a double baby shower to go to tomorrow  so I have used this same idea for each gift. The larger green one is some cute flannels and the blue one is a wee Tshirt with a dog on it hence the punch art dog on the front of the wrapper.

This design also happens to be the challenge on the NZSU website! So thank you to the designer of this challenge as it works perfectly for this. Now the other funny thing is that I was given a similar wrapper last weekend which had had sweets in it. Thanks Adele for thinking of me after the sweets were gone.

Uses the Eyelet Border Punch, Short and Sweet stamp set, Baby from All in the Family Stamp Set,Scallop Oval and Large Oval Punches. the colours are Certainly Celery, Taken With Teal and Lovely Lilac. Not sure of the sex of this baby so went kinda nuetral

I stamped the cellophane with White Staz On and the “Welcome Baby” Stamp bit hard to see in this photo but a litle clearer in the next one!
