Hi folks I’ve been sick again with a stinky cold : ) 4 days off work would have been great if it hadn’t been for feeling so awful and icky.
I have been trying to cheer myself up by doing some work to sell at Dunkleys Craft Show in Christchurch Sept 6-8. Here is some of my “work in progress”
Which one is your favorite?? And just to help you remember when Dunkleys is below is a discount coupon! Just save the image to your computer, print off and take it with you on the day! Hope to see you there!
Happy Mothers Day to all you Mums out there. Both of the cards I want to show you today were class cards based on a card I saw created by Chiaki Haverstick. Here is the sketch I created for them.
The first one used the Everything Eleanor stamp set and my favourite Framelit set yet, Dress Up and was in a Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake with touches of Chocolate Chip colourway. The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake. The wee flower and pearl just add an elegant finishing touch.
Version Number two I made with our local Boys Brigade company, I used a retired stamp set called Reason to Smile (which I do have an unused wood mount set spare if anyone would like it, $25 plus postage). As I’m sure you know little children, boys in particular are not always the “tidiest” of stampers and make thinks inky which is why I used the retired set : ) The sentiment is of course from Teeny Tiny Sentiments and is suitably stained purple now!
And the boys cards looked like this. Sorry the photo is quite terrible, bad lighting combined with night-time and cell phone camera don’t make it pretty but it gives you the idea. There is always one child who manages to stick their front on upside down making a left-handed card!
Hi folks just found this and it was interesting and very useful especially if you have Movers and Shapers dies too. Karen Burniston designed the PopN Cut dies for Stampin’ Up! and she has lots of great ideas in this video and more tutorial for using PopN Cut dies. You can find her blog HERE
Cant leave the boys out can we ? I used the mannequin die from the Dress Up framelits to hang my menswear on! Please dont look too hard at the photo or if you do please ignore the reflection of my T shirt in the acetate window. I was so annoyed when I spotted that as I was adjusting the photos. This card is based on a sketch for the Red Hot Stampers challenge and the colour combo is from the Inkspirational Challenge. The faux stitching pattern around the oval was a bit of lateral thinking. I used the Piercing template for the Apothecary Accents dies to create it using the long shaped one to do top and bottom of oval and then the rectangle with bobble end to join the top and bottom together. Inside is stamped the shoes from Just Married using Midnight Muse ink. My bot thought this card was pretty awesome!!
Todays card is another Dress Up Framelits card which I CASE’d off Jenn Tinline at stampwithjenn.com. I can just imagine a little girl getting a card like this and having fun changing the dresses. I did use two of the dress forms to make it a bit more stable when you are changing the dresses and there is a pocket at the bottom to hold them too.
I used some of the lovely Tea for Two DSP which is on page 3 of the *NEW* Seasonal Catalogue and jazzed the dresses up with some bling and ribbons. The wee flower on the primrose dress was carefully trimmed from wide lace in the Artisan Embellishment Kit on Page 10. This a great kit with a little bit of a lot to get you started making gorgeous paper projects. The card front is just a simple design
Here is a video which shows you how the whole Pop N Cuts system works and how to create the card on page 33 of the Seasonal Catalogue. Also just to let you know there is a special BUNDLE price for the Dress Up Framelits dies and matching Stamp set All Dressed Up which saves you 15% take a look at page 32 for more details
Is there a season for weddings in New Zealand?? I dont know never having gotten around to that. The first thing I saw in the *NEW* Stampin’ Up! Seasonal Catalogue was the Dress Up Framelits on page 32, I love the whole suite BUT could I afford it all? Did I need it all? Well in the true fashion of Kiwis everywhere “I said I can do that, dont need the fancy bits!” So I made my own pop up platform card template so I could recreate the Dress form PopnCuts without the die. Do you remember the card i posted on Jan 25th? No? well here it is again
And here is what it looks like when you open it!
And for a closer look at the outfits, the jacket is all hand pieced and the dress is made with the Dress Up framelits
Pretty fun huh! What is even better is for the next week its going to be Dress Up week so I can showcase what you can do with these dies plus tomorrow I will share my template for making the pop up part of the card so check back then for more. Dont forget you can click on the picture of the new Seasonal Catalogue over in the right hand column to follow the link to Downloadable PDF OR you can view an online version HERE
