Timeless Textures Layout

Two years ago I created a digitally scrap booked album for my son’s 21st. I wanted to print one of the layouts for my own album but 12X12 single layouts are really expensive to print so I got a smaller 8X8 softcover album printed with that layout and some others I had done digitally. I cut out each layout and incorporated them into a 12X12 layout for my album.

This one I matted on some Garden Green and then on to a Pool Party stamped background using Timeless Textures. Simple but quite effective. I did the same thing with this layout but treated the digital print as I would a photo I was scrapbooking. You might remember seeing that page a few years ago when I did it, so pleased to finally get it in my album.

MDSM93 Brown Eyes

I finally did another My Digital Studio Monday Challenge! Here is the Sketch for this week

And here is what I did with it

I love the colours and the stitching detail would you believe there are 44 elements used in this simple looking layout. I love that you can change the colours of elements too I changed the lace to Baked Brown Sugar and fussy coloured the flourish stamps too. Lots of fun and now off to bed!

7670 days with you

7,670 days is equal to 1095 weeks and 5 days OR  184,080 hours OR  11,044,800 minutes OR even 662,688,000 seconds. Twenty One years together

That’s how long my Partner and I have spent together, over half my life! Through trials & tribulations; highs & lows; tears and laughter we have built our relationship and raised our family. It’s hard to believe it has been that long, it only seems like the blink of an eye but we have a son who is nearly 19 and daughters who are nearly 17 and 8 1/2  so it must be true! So today I share an anniversary card

I used the MDS Monday sketch challenge as my inspiration but of course I couldn’t give my honey a digital image so I printed out all the pieces and went Hybrid!

One day I will have to try and figure out how to “sponge” edges digitally. If anyone knows how please let me know – a tutorial would be even better : O I do love my sponges!!

X factor star meets MDSMonday

The MDS Monday scrap sketch #25 ends this Friday so Im just squeaking in with this entry.  Over the weekend we were lucky enough to go see Tom Batchelor of X Factor New Zealand Fame! Leeston where I live is Tom’s home town and he was here to visit his family but took time out to visit and play at both my girls’ schools on Friday. Then On Saturday He braved the cold and damp to play at the local market as a thank you for the support he had gotten from the Community. What a guy! Anyway here is a quick layout I put together using the sketch and photos from the day.

51577543bI used: Daring Adventure and Certified Stamp Brush Sets; Delightful Digital Tape ; Venetian Romance DSP and lots of Text! We needed to include numbers and mine are very small I added the date into  the “authentic” stamp. Hope that counts or maybe I could pretend the X is a roman numeral ………. : O

Here is the sketch:

Faux Embossing with MDS

I am loving these challenges from MDS Monday, they are really helping me to learn new ways to use my software. This weeks challenge came with an easy to follow tutorial on how to do Faux Embossing with My Digital Studio. You can find it here

I combined this card challenge with the SUONLY wedding theme challenge I even used one of the new colour Smoky Slate. The polka dot paper was originally Basic Grey but by changing the opacity it is now Smoky Slate like : )

So here is the sketch, I did stick to it pretty closely BUT I may have another go at this challenge yet…..

 And here is my card

One of the best things about My Digital Studio is the colours NEVER retire so I can still add that gorgeous gorgeous Concord Crush deep purple to my digi projects!

Etchings card inspired by MDS Monday

I loved this set when it first came out and I still love it. I bought it primarily for the key stamp which somewhere along the way I have lost : ( luckily when I bought the  MY DIGITAL STUDIO 2 Software recently it was one of the stamp sets included so I now have access to the key again : )

Anyway I wanted to have a play with MDS again and then I spotted the MDS Monday sketch challenge for a card so I went to work and tried to use mainly retiring product.

Here is the sketch

And here is what I did

18636097b I used Artistic Etchings Stamp Brush Set, Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine (which by the way is discounted to $4.69) and Daring Adventure Stamp brush set all done in retiring colours of Not Quite Navy, Lucky Limeade and Baja Breeze. I even tried out the Splatter function which I actually quite like too. One of the great things about using MDS is that I can line up stamp images exactly where I want them( like in the border I made with the bars and crowns here) with no hassles  or waste of card when I fluff it up. Just have to move it again until I get it right!

Scrapbook Beach page

Aren’t you surprised! Scrapbooking again! Ive actually done three pages in three days and this is the third one which I created using a sketch challenge from MDS Monday

I used My Digital Studio 2 Software of course to create this page digitally but sketches are a great place to start for any scrapbook page. Here is my take

Supplies: Sweet Details Paper kit, Travel Log Kit, Delightful Digital Tape and 3/16″ Brads in Basic colours kit. The colourway is Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, and Kiwi  Kiss (I love how colour NEVER retire with MDS) with touches of Midnight Muse and text in Early Espresso.

OOPSY Challenge included Monochromatic element which I missed so went back and had a play resulting in this one. I think I like the first one better or maybe I just need MORE digital papers hehehe
