Cheerful Critters Latch Card

I revisited this awesome retired set, Cheerful Critters, to make this card for my nieces birthday recently. The tutorial I used for this Latch Card was from Splitcoaststampers, you can find it here.

P1050154The gorgeous birthday candles paper is from the Cherry on Top DSP Stack ( # 138443 page 144 $17.00). I water coloured all the cutesy animals with Stampin’ Write Markers which I scribbled on an acrylic block and picking up the colour with an Aquapainter. The words on the front are from Crazy about You and inside is a gorgeous one from the  Cottage Greetings set.

We are counting down now to September 1st when the new Holiday catalogue goes live.  My supply of these has just arrived so if you would like to get your hands on one of these then leave me a comment or flick me an email at moocowgen@ihug.co.nz

Big Shot, Cards - General, Flash Cards by Connie

Flash Thanks

I went soft and subtle with this one. Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, and touches of Watermelon Wonder with Flash Card 2.0 pieces. I love the Hello You Thinlits and I saving up for the new Greetings ones too which are a little smaller and a different font. Even better, Ive had a  sneaky preview that there are some new Christmas ones in the upcoming Holiday catalogue which will be out on September 1st! This is a really simple design I used the flower image as a background and as a design element along with the leaf image around the die cut negative. The lines were scored in with my Scoreboard, such a simple addition but one that can add a lot.

Cucumber Crush Inspiration

This card was inspired by the lovely Cucumber Crush spotty Washi Tape from the Cherry on Top Washi Pack (p 157 138384 $17). with the help of my white chalk Marker I added spots to the yellow butterfly, pink heart and a Rich Razzleberry strip. I grabbed flowers from the Tree Builder punch (p 167 138295 $38) and Boho Blossoms punch (retired but you could use  the Itty Bitty Accents flower) to add some accents and added some staples with my trusty Handheld Stapler ( page 160#139083 $20)

Top Tip: Mix and Match your Sentiments – I took the Happy from the large Happy Birthday stamp and the Day from the Hope your day is Wonderful stamp to make Happy Day!

Cottage Greetings Banners on a Brick Wall.

Cottage Greetings and the Brick Wall Embossing Folder again. I love this colour Combo Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay with a touch of Watermelon Wonder. The two thin black strips “tie” the banners and background together and the pierced border around the edge just finished off the design.

Top Tip: Don’t forget to stamp your sentiment before you emboss the card : )

Brick Wall Flash

A quick and easy design which looks really elegant with the ribbon border. The Brick Wall Embossing Folder adds a bit of texture and dimension to the card. It is in the new 6X6″ design which allows you to run the design up the card or across it.  I love the Cottage Greetings set, it has the most gorgeous script style sentiments with matching complementing sentiments for inside the card or just to add to the bigger ones.

Top Tip: Stamp the flowers and sentiment before you punch them out so you can get them nicely positioned in the shape.

Grungy Bunny

I had to make a quick birthday card for my daughter’s friend and I had seen this awesome background made with Gorgeous Grunge and some fun bright colours. I used the Happy Birthday from Cottage Greetings set which has such a lovely font. The bunny is from Made With Love I trimmed off the greeting part of that stamp so I could use it separately. I used Smoky Slate ink and an Aqua Painter Pen to add color to the bunny, details were added with Pink Pirouette Marker.

Eleanor Squared

Told ya I love my markers! I never get rid of any of them when they retire so have a whole heap of them, some of which I used to colour these awesome flowers. Basically I start with the palest colour  all over the flower then add the medium colour  over the “etched lines” before adding the darkest colour on some of the edges and closest to the centre of the flower plus all the shadowy bits. Then came the Gorgeous Grunge for a bit  of interest. That frame stamp makes quite a good background too. The sentiment is from Cottage Greetings

Pocketful of Cottage Greetings

Just for fun I had a go at carving a pocket stamp. I used a large eraser and the carving tools from the retired Undefined Kit. The stitched lines didnt come out as well as I had hoped so I used my marker to add stitching and rivet details. I selectively stamped just the HOPE word from “Hope your day is wonderful” sentiment using a marker to colour just the one word. I used the word window punch it out and then insreted one end back in through the top of the punch to shorten it up

And here it is on a card with a bunch of flowers also from Cottage Greetings. I used a marker to add the fine lines across the card.

Cute Note cards

A pair of cute note cards for you today still using up the scraps. I added the 3 squares to the front offset to the left. Then I added a skinny strip to each edge of the squares. I used Cottage Greetings to complete one card and Sprinkles of Life for the other one
