Mother’s Day Sparkle

Just wanted to post this quickly before my Mum arrives for afternoon tea. Here is her card

and inside

I had a go at double embossing with the embossing folders and it worked pretty well. Took a bit of fiddling to get it just right but it was well worth it. The front piece of this one was kind a goof (but don’t tell Mum!) as I embossed the frame on the wrong way round so it is ummmm debossed I think is the word. I also took a risk at hand-lettered one of the sentiments, my handwriting is dreadful so be kind when you look at it : )

Happy Mothers day to all you Mummy’s out there!

Just Add Ink, Try Stamping on Tuesday

Its still Tuesday and I just finishing Stamping so here is my creation based on the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday and I guess it also fits in with the Just Add Ink Challenge too which is “Back to school” . I dont know about you but every time I go to the library I forget which books Ive already read so I need something to help me keep track. Ta daa a Book Tracker.

Here is the sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday

And here is the cover of my Book Tracker

The punched strips down the centre are made with the Scallop Trim Border Punch. Not my idea to use it this way I saw it on one of the blogs I visited today but I’m darned if I can find it now. Take a look at the inside. The 3 pages in the pockets are double sided and I can make new ones as needed. Hopefully this is the answer to my problem…..

Razzleberry Sweet Sweet Birthday

I love Rich Razzleberry and this card became an absolute favourite as soon as I finished it!

Based on the same sketch I used for yesterdays card, I used a new stamp set, Pretty Postage, which I earned FREE through a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators incentive. Ya gotta love FREE!! This is my favorite stamp from the set and the berry image from Clearly For You coordinates with it so well. I also used the block image to create the background from that set. Pretty Postage has a matching Postage Stamp Punch too which I dont have so I used the Scallop Square Punch instead. What do you think of my new embossing folder simply called Stripes! It was my special treat to myself.  I have seen many gorgeous things made with it and just couldn’t hold out any longer…..

Wee Gran

This was one of the projects I displayed at Dunkleys. Its a small canvas of my Great Grandmother, who was a tiny woman hence she was our Wee Gran.

The DSP is from the Newsprint pack and I over stamped it using So Saffron ink and the  the block pattern stamp from Clearly for you then over stamped that with a few of the butterflies in Soft Suede. The canvas was inked with a sponge with Melon Mambo Ink and then the edge covered with satin ribbon.

The flower Bouquet is nested in a V formed by ripping the paper down and curling it back. The flowers are all handmade from Stampin’ Up! Punches. The White ones are single  and the pink ones doubled layers of the cross flower from the Itty Bitty Punch set which is making a come back in the new IB&C so Yippee! The larger yellow ones from the Boho Blossoms Punch. I used floral art stamens to add a special touch, the petals were all painted with a touch of Shimmer Paint for a subtle dazzle. Of course the flowers have all been tweaked into shape with my trusty tweezers! I stamped and cut out a few of the butterflies to add depth and the title is layered die cut letters.

Something to make or cook

That was the day 5 theme

Yvonne sent me kits to stamp and make up these 3 projects. Pretty cool designs actually I was pleased with the 3 D detail on the fancy fold card.

I sent her some Hot chocolate mix and marshmallows to go in it. The marshmallows did actually change before Yvonne got this one thanks to some little sticky fingers who fancied a marshmallow or two.** Insert Grumpy Mummy face here**

Here is a close up of the flower on top I used the faux suede technique on the cardstock after punching out with the Fancy Flower Punch.

Happy Mothers Day

To all you Mothers out there Happy Mothers Day! I’m sure  a lot of you got the usual eclectic breakfast already from the young ones. I’m going to share what I made for my Mum to go along with the shingle she is getting too. Yes shingle ! For her birthday we gave her DIRT for Christmas it was BARK and for Mothers Day what more could she want than SHINGLE.  Actually we made her some gardens around her house and the shingle will go on her drive before winter kicks in.

I used Clearly for you and Hope and Strength both  new set from the Autumn/ Winter  Mini catalogue. Boy do I love Clearly for You. Its sucha versatile wee set and lends itself to vintage styles well.

The colours I used were Crumb Cake, Real Red, Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip.

Now if you would like to order any or the products Ive used, a catalogue or a mini catalogue Email me!

I got this great wee box pattern and have had a lot of fun making boxes using some of the sets in the new mini catalogue.

This one uses the Create a Cupcake Set  and is in Pacific Point cardstock. I stamped both sides of the tag with a sentiment and a message.

Heres another version using Clearly For You. It has a matching card and an alternative card too.

I have used markers direct on the stamps to stamp the berry image, the bird images and the flowers on the cupcake box tag. It’s a great technique to use if you want to add a bit more dimension to your images or to highlight sections of an image or to only use part of a word or image. Very handy!

Clearly for Sally

Clearly For You is a lovely set from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue and I used it to create this beautiful card fro my friend Sally who has just celebrated her 50th birthday!

And inside

I used the 2 3/8″ Scallop Circle (carried over from Summer Mini) and 1 3/4″ Circle punches to mount the die cut numbers over the centre of the gatefold card.

The sentiment on the inside is from Bring on the Cake also in the new Mini. Hard to see in the photos but gorgeous in real life is the spritz of Gold Smooch Spritz. The cardstock colours are Peach Parfait, Concord Crush and Very Vanilla.
