Butterfly Circles

I saw a similar card recently but cant find it again to credit the maker now. I thought it was such a visually effective card that I had to CASE it too. I do have an original idea now and then in case you are wondering but I am also inspired by the beautiful work other crafters produce. I do like to try an acknowledge where the inspiration came from but sometimes that not possible.

I’ve used In this World again and also Timeless Textures and for the Sentiment Love Sparkles.

I coloured the butterflies using Blender Pens and my ink pads. All you have to do is gently squeeze your ink pad when it is closed to transfer some ink to the inside of the lid and then use it like a palette to pick up the ink with the Blender Pen.

Left over circles into pretty flowers

If you had a go at the roses from my last post you will have had some punched out circles left over. Well I hate wasting things so I make them into a more stylised looking rose/flower.

First of all you need to cut your circle like one of those snake coils we used to make and hang from the ceiling as kids. Ok for those of you who had a sheltered childhood see the picture below.

Have fun ladies I would love to see some of your creations so feel free to email me a pic

Oldie but a goodie

I know its retired DSP but… it’s a great design which I have used a few times. You can use up smaller pieces of DSP or scraps of cardstock and a few circle punches to make up this card. The sentiment is from Heard from the Heart which I’m pleased to say made it into the new IB&C.

Have you got your 2010-2011 copy of the Idea book and Catalogue yet? Email me! to get your copy or you can view it online HERE! under Product then Catalogues but honestly theres nothing like having that book in your hands. I often flick through mine in bed at night.

International Scrapbooking Month

This is International Scrapbooking Month! What a great time to start creating your own scrapbook, get back in to it if youve taken a break or try something new if your addicted.

To celebrate I am doing a special Newsletter Supplement this week dedicated to How to get started Scrapbooking. This will be going out Wednesday morning so if you havent already signed up to my newsletter NOW is the time!

I wil also be running a special Scrapbooking Class to get you started on the afternoon of Saturday 22nd May. Contact me for more details!

Other classes this month are a free Introductory Stamping class for those who havent stamped with me before but want to give it a try (Wednesday 19th May 7pm) and a Try It Out night with two fun projects using the new bigshot and new product from the Autumn Winter mini catalogue (Friday 28th May 7pm).

Circle punches can be a very useful tool for adding decoration or emphasis to detail in a photo. These were the only photo I got of my kids birthday and in all honesty they are pretty rubbish. BUT they are all I have so  to spotlight my kids in them I punched out a circle and then I positioned a larger circle punch evenly over the hole left in the paper from the previous circle and punched out the ring. The paper I used just echoed the ring/circle design.
