Title bar

Hi folks welcome to the Creative Inkers Team Occasions and Sale-A-Bration Blog Hop. I love getting new Stampin’ Up! catalogues, its always exciting to see what their concept artists have come up with and there are some cracking offerings in our newest ones. One of my favourites is the Friends and Flowers stamp set.

My card was inspired by a picture my friend Julia posted on Facebook of some awesome flat cat felt Cup mats and I thought ” I can Punch Art that and use that cute animal face stamp from friends and Flowers!” And Guess What? I could!

This was my first go at using water colour paper to do a washed sky effect but it worked pretty well. Heres a close up of Puss.

Pudgy Puss Punch Art

Ok ladies and gents here it goes. Pudgy Puss!

To make Pudgy Puss you will need:

Full Heart Punch – Feet

Wide Oval – Arms and Head and Face also Tail

1 3/4″ Circle – Tummy

1/2″ circle – Paws

5 Petal flower – Inner Ears

Heart to Heart  using the Wide heart – Ears

Small circle from Itty Bitty Punch set – Eyes

1″ circle – Nose

2 1/2″ Circle DIE from the Circles #2 Originals die – Body

You can see  the hearts have been repunched to create the ovals for Puss’ Feet. The tail was created by reinserting the card back into the punch after i had already punched out an oval. Position the punch to create the shape above under the largest circle.

Now I did change the Ears so ignore the full hearts at the top of this pic as I used the widest heart from the Heart to Heart punch instead. Heres how the face and head look.

I used a black marker to dot and dash a border round each piece and to draw on features as well as the White gel pen to draw on the eye details. Each piece is sponged and I stamped tone on tone with the block image from Clearly for You on each piece too.

I think you can probably see how to make the other two characters from yesterday but if you have any questions or want to order any of the punches shown feel free to Email me! Hope you enjoyed seeing how to make a Pudgy Puss of your own.

Pussy in the Cottage Garden

My little niece turned Two last week and when I asked her Mum what she thought our wee one might like she replied as long as it had cats or flowers on it,  it would be fine.

Ok then Cats or Flowers Hmmmmmm

Alright I admit it I want to be her favourite Auntie so Cats AND Flowers!

This cat looks very much like my nieces cat Holly I used Sahara Sand Card and then splotch sponged with Creamy Caramel and added stripes with a stencil created by taking a V-shaped snip out of some paper. The white details and stripes I added with my trusty White Gel pen.

Punches I used to make the cat were:

Body and Head – Wide Oval

Ears – tall heart and small heart from Heart to Heart

Nose – 1/2″ circle cut into 1/4’s

Muzzle – 3/4″ Circle

Collar – Trimmed, double punched piece from Large Oval

Eyes – just and ordinary hole punch

For the background I used the swirl, butterfly, 3 flower  and solid flower from Cottage Garden and the leaf from Vintage Vogue. Ink colours are Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Elegant Eggplant, Pretty in Pink and my very favourite but unfortunately retiring Taken with Teal. Good-bye my friend I will miss you BUT I can still use you all I like for 19 more days.
