Its hard to believe my youngest baby turns 9 today! Where has the time gone. It occurred to me at abt 11pm last night I hadn’t made her a card. Its your typical ” mechanic has car the breaks down all the time” or “builder has lots of fix it jobs undone at home” syndrome. You know card maker doesn’t have the card made. So its 11 pm and I going “Oh, woe is me, whatever shall I do?” and then I remembered a card I had seen recently by Tamsin Adams. What really jumped out at me was it had 9 candles and my girl was 9, Go Figure! These card- in- a- box cards are pretty cool and I have tried the larger version already which doesn’t fit in our SU A6 envelopes. Now IF it hadn’t been 11 pm at night I MAY have figured out that it didn’t matter if it fitted in an envelope or not because I didn’t need to post it. DUH! Anyway with this in mind I thought I would try the smaller version that Tanya Bell had done a video for which DID fit in the envelope. Here is what I came up with

The base card is Early Espresso and the papers are from the Fresh Prints Paper Stack, I love the colours and patterns in there. I even used my new stamp set Spiral Spins which I think is going to be a useful wee one.And here it is closed up with a view of the back and one side.

And closed up with a view of the front and one side and the two flap folded down. The candles were punched with Word Window Punch and the flames were trimmed from a petal of the Petite Petals Punch. They were put together on a strip of transparency sheet before being mounted on the card.
The important thing was my girl loved it and because of the design these cards are nice to have on display for a while too. She also though she could keep it for a while because it would be good for her 69th birthday too – see picture above left. Kids, you never know what will come out of their mouths!
