Have your cake but dont eat it!

Tomorrow is Rolleston Community Market Day so if you’re in the area drop in and say Hi! We will be there from 10 – 1 at the Rolleston Community Centre.

While your thinking about that take a look at this.

This is one of the displays on our stand at Dunkleys last weekend. The middle tier showcases the new in colours, arent they pretty? I used the new Petite Pennants Punch to decorate the sides of the wagon and the star is from the matching stamp set. The top tier was my first attempt at one of those gorgeous “cakes” Ive been seeing everywhere. I had to create my own pattern in the end and mine is top opening with the lid connected to the outside of the cake. I embossed the lids with the Elegant Lines embossing folder after stamping it all over with Blushing Bride flower vines. The trick I have found for embossing Whisper white cardstock (without over stretching the fibres) is to fold a piece of computer paper around both sides of the piece. It works a treat!

Squashed Box

OK the title was a little deceptive as its only the top of the box that gets squashed and I think its actually called a Twist Top Box. This is a great wee box and  although I have done a fairly basic version you could dress it up very easily. I will definitely be having another go at this and it wasnt too hard either! I used my new Builder Wheels from the Autumn Winter Mini Catalogue which I think look really cute. Have you seen this Catalogue you can contact me for a paper copy or view it online by clicking the link in the right hand column.

Dont forget there will be new Deals of the Week on Wednesday so if you wanted any of last weeks the time to order is NOW as these specials are only available till Tuesday night.

ESAD Blog Hop

Welcome to the ESAD Autumn / Winter Mini Catalogue Blog Hop

What is ESAD?

ESAD stands for Extra Special Australasian Demonstrators and it is an online group just for Australian and New Zealand demonstrators for Stampin’ Up!

We so love what we do and not only do we love to share it with our customers, friends, and wonderful blog visitors but we share our love for what we do with each other as Demonstrators. We run swaps, challenges, tutorials, product know how and cyberstamps and we are always there to help and support each other when it’s needed.

So if you are a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator located in Australia or New Zealand then please feel free to click here to join our wonderful group.

I got this great wee box pattern and have had a lot of fun making boxes using some of the sets in the new mini catalogue.

This one uses the Create a Cupcake Set  and is in Pacific Point cardstock. I stamped both sides of the tag with a sentiment and a message.

Heres another version using Clearly For You. It has a matching card and an alternative card too.

I have used markers direct on the stamps to stamp the berry image, the bird images and the flowers on the cupcake box tag. It’s a great technique to use if you want to add a bit more dimension to your images or to highlight sections of an image or to only use part of a word or image. Very handy!

Where to start

Bet you thought Id fallen off the face of the Earth!! Not quite but life has been interesting of late and not left me a lot of time or energy for business or creating. I did manage to make some ATC cards for a Crafters Anonymous 4 seasons swap series. This season of course is Summer. Boy was this a challenge after not crafting since before Christmas. I finally have my Office in a state of orderliness so can get back to creating beautiful projects. When I get the ATC swap cards back I will share them with you then.

The good news is that Sale-A- Bration is nearly here, its starts January 25th and there are FOUR gorgeous sets to choose from for each order of $120 or more. You could have a Workshop for you and your friends AND if the total sales reach $700 or more, then you can choose ANOTHER free set. Gotta love Sale-A-Bration, it’s so easy to earn your free sets.

Dont forget tomorrow is your last chance to take advantage of the Valentines Sweetheart Promotion.

Just so you have something pretty to look at here is what Dee made me for the final day of our Christmas swap.

On the First Day of Christmas

Ok I’m a bit late for that but I did need to make sure my swap partner had SEEN her present BEFORE I posted it here. I signed up for a swap at Crafters Anonymous called the 12 Days of Christmas. We had to make 12 gifts for our swap partner sticking to the theme for each day.

Day One is Something to Hang

I gave my Swap partner Dee a Mini Star Book tucked into its own box

Here is Dee’s box

Heres the ornaments all folded out and hung on the tree

Cant wait for Day 2!

All boxed and safe finally

I have managed to lose one of my sizzlit dies which was extremely annoying so when I was thinking about the fortnightly challenge at Crafters Anonymous I figured maybe I could hopefully stop that from happening at the same time.

The Challenge as set by Ursula, the winner of the last challenge, was “Create a functional holder for domestic use. Your design must include an animal and the colour red.”

I made this cute all in one cube box to put my Sizzlit dies. I fixed it to fit them so it’s not quite a true cube. I used the Forest Friends Owl for my animal, the sentiment is from Tote-ally Tess and overlapped the new Fancy Flower punch to form a mat for the owls. They are punched out using the Wide Oval. Here it is  open…

NOW I just have to get enough Sizzlit dies to fill it up which wont be hard with the great designs Stampin’ Up!® has, check out pages 151 for Embosslit dies and 152 for our Sizzlit dies.

Crafters Anonymous Colour Challenge

Over at Crafters Anonymous tonight they had a Colour Challenge. We had to choose from a list of colours and use a  minimum of 3 including ORANGE. Yes Orange! Well Peach Parfait is one of the new In Colours and I had a new flower design using the Fancy Flower punch I just had to try from here.

I’ve used my Fancy Flower Punch box yet again but sideways this time and stamped with the direct to stamp technique using Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Markers and the flower swirl from Vintage Vogue.

I think my flower looks something like its supposed to so yah for me!
