White Space – Tick

“White Space!” That’s something I often struggle with when scrapbooking. I think I’ve managed to leave plenty in this double page spread. Although it is called White Space the term  actually refers to parts of the page where there aren’t any photos or embellishments so it could be a coloured or patterned background paper.

As you can probably tell from my recent posts I have a LOT of this retired paper but I do love the bright funky colours in it. It’s a great colour way – Island Indigo, Pumpkin Pie, Strawberry Slush (retired), Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. P1060436

Have you spotted this flowers again. They are just such a great embellishment! P1060435

Here is a close up of one of the embellishment clusters on the page. The other punch that is really useful is the Banner Punch which is on special until Tuesday at $18.75

Cards - Birthday

Cottage Greetings Banners on a Brick Wall.

Cottage Greetings and the Brick Wall Embossing Folder again. I love this colour Combo Mint Macaron and Bermuda Bay with a touch of Watermelon Wonder. The two thin black strips “tie” the banners and background together and the pierced border around the edge just finished off the design.

Top Tip: Don’t forget to stamp your sentiment before you emboss the card : )

2 cards 1 sketch

I Kind of CASED this one from the Card using Blended Bloom on page 114. It is a great design that could used in a number of ways. The Blackberry Bliss one uses Sprinkles of Life and the Cucumber Crush one uses another of my new sets called Made With Love.

The paper banners are made using papers from Cherries on Top 6X6 Paper stack

How cute is this wee deer! And there is that gorgeous Cherry paper again. To get the water coloured look to the baby suit I quickly ran over the stamped lines with a Blender Pen (p 163 of the catalogue) then I deepened the stripes by using the Inkpad squeeze method. Squeeze the inkpad while its closed and then open the ink pad and the should be a smudge of ink on the lid. Pick up a little of the ink and scribble it on the lid and colour the stripes. I used this method to colour the deer as well.

Cups and Packed for Baby – Two Cards One Sketch take one

Only a couple of these Take a Sip Cards left but I wanted to try using the same sketch to do two quite different cards.

take a sip banner (601x800)

The first was Portrait and the banner hangs from the top with a slimmer one with the sentiment (from Teeny Tiny Sentiments) on it. I wrapped the banner with some Cherry Cobbler Bakers twine which is a carryover item from the Summer Mini Catalogue. The embossed background is the Stripes folder, for the second card I used the Perfect Polka Dots folder.

packed baby banner (800x590)

I turned the sketch sideways to landscape for this card and used Packed for Baby to create my banner background. The scalloped spot ribbon has replaced the twine and the sentiment (from Short and Sweet) is stamped only once.
