Two cards, one sketch CASE

I decided to CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) the Catalogue and used the daffodil card from Page 30 of the Occasions Catalogue. I CASEd it not once but twice! This first card using Southern Serenade is quite similar with the main image on white tilted to one side , a base of DSP and a flagged sentiment strip. But I swapped the button for a small fussy cut flower bumped up on a dimensional and added 2 punched out vellum leaf branches using the Leaf Punch.

For the Second card I replaced the DSP(Designer Series Paper) with a piece of card embossed using the stems one of the Petal Pair Embossing folders. I matted the the central image  of the peacock from SAB Exclusive Beautiful Peacock on Cajun Craze. The main image has a few wraps of gold Metallic Thread around the bottom and the final touch was the accent strip under the Sentiment piece.

The catalogues aren’t just pretty to look at, they are a great resource to help you be creative as well. Be sure to have a go at CASEing one of the beautiful creations in them soon

2 cards 1 sketch

I Kind of CASED this one from the Card using Blended Bloom on page 114. It is a great design that could used in a number of ways. The Blackberry Bliss one uses Sprinkles of Life and the Cucumber Crush one uses another of my new sets called Made With Love.

How cute is this wee deer! And there is that gorgeous Cherry paper again. To get the water coloured look to the baby suit I quickly ran over the stamped lines with a Blender Pen (p 163 of the catalogue) then I deepened the stripes by using the Inkpad squeeze method. Squeeze the inkpad while its closed and then open the ink pad and the should be a smudge of ink on the lid. Pick up a little of the ink and scribble it on the lid and colour the stripes. I used this method to colour the deer as well.

Cute Note cards

A pair of cute note cards for you today still using up the scraps. I added the 3 squares to the front offset to the left. Then I added a skinny strip to each edge of the squares. I used Cottage Greetings to complete one card and Sprinkles of Life for the other one

Cottage Scraps

I had to prep for a class lately and greatly OVER prepared as lots of people cancelled at the last minute so had lots of leftover squares of DSP ( patterned paper). So I had a play to figure out how to use them up. I love to use up my scraps!

P1040999

Quick and easy in design and so open to adaption. I added the stamped, matted Sentiment panel and faux stitching to the outer edge of each square. The stamp set is again Cottage Greetings, its so cute!

Last one is Notecard size and uses Tree from Sprinkles of Life.

Sprinkles of Life Day 4 – swapsies

Recently I took part in a team card sample swap and I used Sprinkles of Life and some of our new In Colours, Watermelon Wonder and Cucumber Crush along with So Saffron. I also used the Boho Chic Embossing Folder.

P1040995

The wispy thread behind the flower basket is a single strand from a piece of  Bakers Twine – a great cost saver as a little goes a long way. I had also used this design with the Crazy About You stamp set so take a look at this.

P1040994

Simple and stepped up with a whole Rich Razzleberry flower, Bakers twine and sequins. The stepped up one uses slightly different colours with the yellow being Delightful Dijon and the green Mint Macaron. These again are sized notecard size so you can get 3 cards from one A4 – cut at 3 3/4″,  7 1/2″ and 11 1/4″ and score in half.

Sprinkles of Life Day 3 Two cards one design

I had two go’s at this card design just because I liked it so much! They are both so cute and use the Tree Builder Punch and Sprinkles of Life.P1040902

These cards are a bit smaller than the usual A5 fold. You can get 3 from each A4 sheet. just cut across the sheet at 9.5, 19 and 28.5cm to create the 3 cards. Score at 14 cm to create front flap. You need two mats – front 6.5 X9 cm and inside 13.5 X 9 cm. Here is version 2 using the basket of flowers.

P1040904The basket/ cupcake case needs to be handcut but the cupcake tops can be punched out along with allsorts of other bits

Quick and Easy 2 different ways

I love this quick easy design with just a couple of wee changes can look quite different.

P1040638This one uses the matryoshka dolls from  Today and Everyday. The cool thing about this card design is you can do it all with only ONE stamp. I have used the same colour-way for both cards: Calypso Coral, Crisp Cantaloupe, Soft Sky, Lost Lagoon,  Pistachio Pudding and Wild Wasabi. One light and one dark of each shade with a little Smoky Slate to add shadows.

P1040637

You can just see the clever sponging trick I used to add some interest to the background. I punched the Scalloped Oval punch overlapping in a “line” a couple of time to create a template and the used that with Soft Sky to sponge some waves.

I did cheat a little with the 2nd card and used a different sentiment as this stamp is from our Hey Valentine set from the Occasions Catalogue. This is only available until June 1 due to a change in the catalogue end date so don’t miss out

Two cards One sketch FTL263

Gosh I have a lot of cards to make at the moment, lots of babies coming along plus birthdays too. The two cards I have for you today are based on the same sketch from Clean and Simple Stamping.

FTL263I started off making a baby card but then didn’t think the wee girl image from retired stamp set Easter Blossoms quite did it for me so it became a birthday card! For both cards I used the Doilies Sizzlit die to frame the images and the same colour way of Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar inspired by the CASE Study Challenge #163

I added lots of Paper piercing and faux stitching to the birthday card too

P1020204 (640x475)

And now for the baby card, a much cleaner design but still with little touches of wow!

P1020202 (640x443)           The butterflies came from two retired sets I had and the pink dotties are the lichen stamp from the also retired French Foliage.  I’m looking forward to getting my hands on my new set of Gorgeous Grunge which will be here soon. The onsie is of course from the  Baby Tees Jumbo wheel. I have just unmounted mine and I’m in the process of mounting them separately onto Clear mount Cling Foam ( page 197 of the annual catalog 2 sheets 21.6 X 28  cm for $22.95) The sentiment is Itty Bitty Banners and the card was finished off with some rhinestones and faux stitching

Two cards one sketch

Hello folks I have for you tonight another pair of cards in my series Two Cards One Sketch.

Here is the sketch I came up with which was based on another card I saw on Pinterest which of course I didnt save the creator of.

36323125b I have used mostly retiring product tonight to showcase some of those with the first card using three stamp sets, Kindness Matters (love it AND its down to $14.97 in clearmount!!!), French Foliage and Itty Bitty Bits, the papers are from Tea for Two DSP pack in the Seasonal Catalogue. Colourway is Chocolate Chip, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral and Bashful Blue with a touch of Island Indigo

P1010836 (439x640) And here comes version two using a colour that is coming back into the catalogue, Blushing Bride, with Tempting Turquoise, Pool Party and Primrose Petals which I THINK is finally growing on me! The stamps I have used are Greeting Card Kids, Itty Bitty Bits, Every Little Bit (which are ALL retiring) and  Teeny Tiny sentiments. I have of course used the Honeycomb Embossing folders to create the hexagons for this card using paper from both the Comfort Cafe and Twitterpated DSP packs which I have then sponged the edges of. I even got to use my new Oval Framelits!

            P1010834 (458x640)    P1010835 (478x640)

If you check the catalogue image for the Greeting Card Kids set you will find that the wee girl is actually pulling along a Christmas Tree, which I have replaced with a present. To do this I inked the stamp in chocolate chip ink then used a blender pen to take the ink OFF the tree part of the image. Just lift the ink with the blender pen and scribble off onto scrap paper until there is no ink left on that part. Lucky for me the present fitted perfectly on the back part of the wee sled, positioned with the help of my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig. I just drew a line up to her scarf to make the box 3 D and added some more dots. Aren’t I a clever bunny, I was impressed with myself. Both the Seam binding ribbon and the lace threaded through the tags on these cards is from the about to retire Artisan Embellishment Kits on page 10 of the Seasonal Catalogue.

It’s easy to place your orders through my Online Store HERE or just Email me!, I will be placing an order early next week and remember all of the retiring product is WHILE STOCKS LAST.
