Simply Scored

I cant wait to get me hands on one of our brand new DIAGONAL SCORING PLATES Yes this monthe Stampin’ Up has released a diagonal plate for the fabulous Simply Scored Scoring Tool. Much easier for scoring those diagonal stripe or trellis type backgrounds, Making boxes and even better your own envelopes in any size you like. What a bonus for those odd size cards!

  • Sits on top of the Simply Scored base*
  • Held securely in place by rubber pads on the back of the plate
  • Has etched grooves every 1/8″
  • Can score any size card stock up to 12″ x 12″
  • Includes instructions for creating common envelope sizes

I already had a scoring board when this one was released but the Stampin’ Up! is far superior to what I had. All those extra measurements and the place markers really make the difference. I also read this review written by a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator in Canada (so dont pay too much attention to the prices) which points out similarities and differences between some similar scoring boards. You can find it HERE

I made this gorgeous fan with the *NEW* Simply Scored Tool using the Attic Boutique Designer Series Paper from the Autumn Winter Mini. Vintage Vogue went rather well with the paper and I made it quite vintagey looking using Crumb Cake and Calypso Coral with Rock and Roll technique on the big flowers and sponged edges on all the flowers and leaves. Lots of fussy cutting but really worth it. I used the Simply Scored Stylus with my Mat Pack to shape the flower petals to give them some dimension.

May is also the month for some changes!

Birthday Windmill Card

Ive been wanting to try a windmill on a card for ages and Ive finally done it. I had an idea about using the Scallop Square die but wasnt happy with the result then Miss 15 ” Mum that looks stupid! I can make an origami one” so she taught me how to do it. Nice.

I based this card on one I had seen out there in cyber space but made a few changes to make it my own. I used some retired, stamps, paper and ribbon plus the NEW Framelits dies and Adorning Accents Embossing Borders, Embosslits button die and Peach Parfait Ribbon.

The other tool I used was my favourite new tool, The Simply Scored Tool, to make the pleated ruffle along the bottom of the card. I used a skewer for the windmill stick and wrapped it with ribbon. Im really quite pleased with the way this came out all quite vintagey and girly at the same time!

Simply Scored Cards Plus Bonus

Better grab a coffee boys and girls cos this is gonna be a long one!!

Right are you all set? Today is the first day of the new Autumn Mini Catalogue which is full of brand new goodies!! You can view a copy online by clicking the picture in the right hand column or Email me! to get a paper copy.

I am going to showcase my favourite new tool the Simply Scored Scoring Tool!

This card uses a brand new punch too, the Blossom Punch( 125603 $41.59 on page 21) It even has a matching stamp set. Look at the beautiful even score lines in that background!

This time I used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to create Scored frames both on the card and on a frame I slipped partially behind darling Tess. I used one of three new Designer Series Paper packs – Attic Boutique ( 125407 $22.95 on page 17) – to make the flowers and background inside the frame of the card. We also got some fab new  Texture Impressions Embossing Folders called Adorning Accents  – 125601 on page 9 –  I used a scalloped one on another piece of the Attic Boutique paper and then hand cut around it although there is a coordinating  Adorning Accents Edgelits dies set that will cut it with a tiny scalloped edge on the scallops. Sorry, bad explanation so you will just have to look at the Mini to see what I mean!

This last card is a really fun one with lollipops on it. I have again used the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to make a grid pattern background also to make a border on the Whisper White cardstock matting the Baja Breeze embossed strip. Yes that is  another of the embossing folder borders in the set. Its a set of 3 for $20.50 so not bad value at all. The cute paper is from another of the new DSP packs – Sweet Shop 125408 on page 23 which is $29.95 It is  a specialty pack and features some embossed papers including the heart one Ive used here.

Did you notice the “bite” out of the lollipop?? Before I cut the sticks I scored in a line to give them a slightly raised look, which is a bit hard to see in the photos, and then cut the strips.

And now for the bonus just because Im an awesome person : ) and very modest too you know I have created a 4 page PDF of  info, tips and pics to help you get the most from your Simply Scored Scoring Tool. I havent gone into making boxes at all but have lots of ideas for how to make background papers, including diagonal ones and frames so click here to download your copy. I hope its helpful. Of course if you would like to order your own Simply Scored Scoring  Tool  feel free to give me a ring or Email me! to place your order.

PS if you would like to have an In Home workshop for you and some of your friends to try out some of the new product then now is a great time to book!!
