Happy Scrappy Results

Sorry I didn’t get this post up yesterday, life has this horrible way of jumping in front of me when I plan things. But here we are a day late : )

This is what I did with the 5 of the 6 pieces I showed you on Thursday. Somewhere along the line I misplaced one but I have found it now so maybe tomorrow…..

P1020138 (640x485)

Back Row: A little Crazy Patched piece that I embossed using the Square Lattice folder (stamp from Bring on the Cake); A cool wee Patchwork square which I added pen  stitching lines to (Stamp from Best of.. Christmas) ; Lastly another Patchwork inspired pattern (stamp from Petite pairs)

Front: Striped pattern with various sized strips then paper pierced and faux stitched Zig Zag stitching in Early Espresso (Stamp from So Sorry); Bargello inspired strips placed in a chevron (Stamp from Tag It)

My fav I think is the So Sorry Card

Kindness still Matters with Dynamic Fusion

Did you like the  snazzy title? I wanted to showcase another of my retiring sets Kindness Matters. Its a cutey with three little butterflies.

I love how the butterflies can be used to make this awesome background  and that half doily makes a great edge or border. I had a crack at a couple of challenges Dynamic Duos and a fairly new one Fusion card challenge

Here is what I came up with after a couple of false starts with the sentiment : )

P1010833 (468x640)

And the attempt’s – neither was quite right really. Do love this colour combo though, it reminds me of an outfit Princess Diana wore!

Two Cards One sketch

Here is another of couple versions I did of yesterdays first card, these are in a more masculine style and colourway.

I love this collage look and the colours worked beautifully – Baja Breeze, Basic Grey, Midnight Muse and Very Vanilla.

Here is the sketch I made, its not pretty but its a sketch and also yesterdays card based on the same design

JAI Colour combo

This weeks Just Add Ink Challenge was to use Very Vanilla, Wisteria Wonder and Crumb Cake to create a project. I did two but my favourite is this one

I was so pleased when Fabulous florets turned up in the new Annual catalogue as I really didn’t want to pack it away and it was just perfect for this card.

Here is a bit of a closer look at the sentiment, it is from teeny Tiny sentiments and I used one of the line art flowers to emphasis it. Here is the other one I did in this colourway and tomorrow I will show you another version of the first card.

This card also uses Fabulous Florets as well as Curly Cute and My Friend. Simple and understated. I have been having to do way to many of these sympathy type cards of late  so Im hoping for some more cheerful occasions now

Fast and Furious Fabulousness

It was also my Mum’s birthday last week so I got to make a grown up card and because it was my Mum it had to be something quite fabulous so I tried a new fancy fold! This one is called the Twisted greeting card and I learnt it from a video by Kelly Gettlefinger. You can watch her Youtube video here. I will definitely have to have a go at more of these ones. Did I mention I had less than an hour to create this hence the Fast and furious in the post title : )

I wanted to use some of my new stash too so the DSP is from Comfort Cafe in the Annual catalogue, the Midnight Muse die cut is from the Apothecary Accents Framelits die set and I used the Scalloped tulle ribbon from the Holiday Catalogue too. Here is the inside

Easel Card not Evil Card!

Today I had a visit from a couple of lovely ladies who wanted to learn all about  the Big Shot and what you could do with it. One of the cards I showed them was an EASEL card but one of the ladies misheard me and thought I was going to teach them an EVIL card. Although it was a bit different I dont think its is evil. Let me know what you think.

I got quite a few techniques and Big Shot products into this one: Square Lattice Embossing Folder for doing inlaid embossing, Scallop Circle die,  Buttons Embosslits and the Stripes Embossing Folder to do inked folder gingham pattern.

Sorry the photos are a bit rubbish but it got dark before I thought to take them. Duh!  The image is from one of the hostess sets. Below is the easel “stopper piece”

Shadow Smiles

R2S shadow (586x800)

For this card I used only the shadow parts of Reason To Smile rather than stamping the line images over the top. I also added the splotchy image from French Foliage stamp set. The colours I used were Cherry Cobbler, Peach Parfait, Island Indigo and Pool Party for the flowers and Crumb cake for the Splotches. I cut the patterned card BEFORE I embossed it with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder otherwise you risk it tearing when you go to cut it. This was then matted on Crumb cake, Lace and Bakers Twine added  and then finally mounted onto the Cherry Cobbler card front.

R2S shadow close up (800x600)

Close up you can see the detail a little better Best Wishes comes from the Petite Pairs Stamp Set. I left the sentiment un-embossed to make it stand out a bit more.

Get Well Smiles

carolyns card (580x800) Ok couldn’t resist I love this wee flower and I’m growing to love the bigger daisies too. A really simple concept for this card but the wee touches really add to it. I used my Framelits Labels collection to make the two shaped mats and pulled out some retired ribbon and buttons to tie up the daisies. carolyns card close up (800x600)

I stamped the solid flowers with Wisteria Wonder with the line image is over stamped in Basic Black. The accents are in Lucky Limeade.

Im so sorry card

I always wondered when I would use that stamp. Generally I apologize in person if I have offended/upset someone although I cant remember the last time I veered from sweet and innocent : ) Recently I was asked to make a card for someones friend whose dog had just died after being hit by a car and  she wanted a card that said Im So Sorry. I had about 15 minutes to make it so I used one of my left over class kits which is why I used retired paper.

Did you see the double bow? I used Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla Seam Binding Tape to tie the bow. The stamp sets are My Friend on page 85 and Teeny Tiny Sentiments on  page 105.
