And Finally a Card!

IMG_20160819_170222It is my take on one that is in the Holiday Catalogue on page 48. It uses the Thoughtful Branches Stamp set, Fancy Frost Sequins 142519 $10.75 NZ from page 37 and one of our new embossing folders, the  Cable Knit Dynamic Textured Impressions™ Embossing Folder 143537 $20.00 NZD on page 13. Its much thicker than our other folders so needs to be used a little differently. Stampin’ Up! thought about that though and provided a wee video Here is a little trick I used. Do you see the green strip? I cut that strip and embossed it by placing it on the “stitches” between the cables which gave me a cool textured strip!

110 Cards – Up the Flowered Path

As you will have read yesterday our new Bonus Days Promotion requires a spend of $110 to earn your Bonus $11 coupon so I decided to make some projects that used products totalling around that amount to help you choose what to get.

So may I introduce to you 110 cards!

Up The Flowered Path Card – Just click on the Card Photo above to be taken to the quick How To PDF. I based this card on one by May Park who called this technique (she had used stamped images though) Faux Stained Glass. I figured that in these colours though it looked more like paving stones. Watch out for another edition next week.

And here as promised are the pictures of the new Limited Edition Stamp set and Thinlit Dies available from August 2 – 31 or while stocks last. How cute is this!

Big Shot, Cards - General, Flash Cards by Connie

Flash Thanks

I went soft and subtle with this one. Soft Sky, Mint Macaron, and touches of Watermelon Wonder with Flash Card 2.0 pieces. I love the Hello You Thinlits and I saving up for the new Greetings ones too which are a little smaller and a different font. Even better, Ive had a  sneaky preview that there are some new Christmas ones in the upcoming Holiday catalogue which will be out on September 1st! This is a really simple design I used the flower image as a background and as a design element along with the leaf image around the die cut negative. The lines were scored in with my Scoreboard, such a simple addition but one that can add a lot.

Add Butterfly

Hi Folks its Weekly Deals Day so don’t forget to check them out HERE ! I love to see what bargains Stampin’ Up! are going to give us each week. Here is another card using Everything Eleanor. This is the medium-sized butterfly from the Butterflies Thinlit dies cut twice and layered together. I had a go using the Rock’n’Roll technique on the flowers.

Build A Birthday Brick Wall

This one doesnt in the least resemble a birthday cake but it is also made using Build A Birthday. I used a few shades of yellow and brown; Delightful Dijon, Hello Honey, So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe and Soft Suede. The card base is Delightful Dijon and the stars So Saffron. This candle stamp reminded me of breeze block or bricks so I stamped it like that.

I used my star framelits to add some interest and a peek-a-boo window through to the inside of the card. And of course stars scream for some blink! I added some gold sequins and with the leftover “string” from my sequin roll I added the knot on the star. Waste not, want not.

What to do with the leftover bit!

After I made the card (posted yesterday for Colour Throwdown Challenge) I was left with the pieces from inside the letters and the “negative” of the word. P1040784Using a couple of sticky notes I then sponged 1 cm stripes of colour on a piece of Whisper White the same size as the “negative” card piece. I adhered the “negative” in place ( you could use dimensionals here to raise it up a bit) then stamped the Birthday sentiment on some WW, punched it out with a Word Window punch and popped it on some Dimensionals under the word. Then I matted and mounted the whole piece as shown. Cool huh! Here is a closer look at the sponged stripes.

sick : ( but been working on……

Hi folks I’ve been sick again with a stinky cold : ) 4 days off work would have been great if it hadn’t been for feeling so awful and icky.

I have been trying to cheer myself up by doing some work to sell at Dunkleys Craft Show in Christchurch Sept 6-8. Here is some of my “work in progress”

Happy 700

Wow! That is a milestone. This is my 700th post! We have had a very busy day at my house today. My eldest daughter has been to work twice, We got to see Tom Batchelor of XFactor NZ fame  as he played a wee gig for his hometown supporters (see below). And lastly we went to my nieces 5th Birthday party!

So before I show you my nieces card I have to share my daughters pics with the lovely Tom!

Ok Now the card. I have to confess I CASEd this one but  used SU products for my version. I think I might have seen it on Pinterest – addictive little place that it is .

P1020053 (542x640)

The paper is from one of last years packs, the bus is from Every Little Bit (retired last catalogue) and the apple, happy face and heart are from a long retied set called Occasionally.  I did use a a couple of current sets too though, Simply Stars – new in this catalogue – and That’s the ticket plus new colours Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe. Take a closer look at the grouping.P1020054 (477x640)
