Sew clever

I think I am SEW clever! after not using my sewing machine in a very long time I finally got it out yesterday after a trip to a quilting shop with my friend Anne. We wanted to make some quilted bags using the Top Note Die and the Big Shot but I will come to that in a couple of days as it is still drying after having a spin in the washer. Mid way through doing some housework I had a fabulous idea (anything to get out of the housework!!) I wanted to make something little just to try out stamping on fabric so I made up a Top Note Pin cushion. Sadly it met with a nasty accident – ME! I had the iron on too hot and scorched the heck out of it when I went to iron on some die cut buttons. I learnt a nifty little trick from the ladies who were beside us at SENZ who had made their own aprons and used this wonderful stuff called Vilene to die cut shapes out of then all they had to do was iron it on! Anyway enough yapping here is my pin cushion, I even managed to find 3, yes count ’em THREE pins to poke in it. Even when I do sew I dont often use pins unless absolutely necessary and besides which my teenage daughter likes to try to sew and she loses all my pins.

Dont you love Tote-ally Tess’ little scissors and quote! Just perfect for a pin cushion. I used a good quality heavy weight Calico and Black Stazon ink to stamp with.
