Cards Fancy Folds

Pop! display Card

I had a play session with my friend Anne earlier this week and we made this!

For Everything Pop up cardA Free Standing Pop Up Card. We both did pretty much the same thing using Washington Apple DSP and the For Everything Set from the Summer Mini Catalogue.  Find  detailed instructions  for making a similar card by Mary Jo Albright HERE! at Split Coast Stampers. Have a look through the gallery to see more variations.  This one has fold out sections to make it look more ” gallery window looking”. It is important to get the scoring measurements just right so it sits properly. When you collapse it flat for putting in an envelope for posting lean the Pop up  back slightly so the flaps slide through more easily.

Basic instructions  are:

  • 4-1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock for base
  • 5-1/2″ x 6″ piece of cardstock for pop up

Score the 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of cardstock at at 1″, 2-3/4″, 3-3/4″, 5-1/2″, 7-1/4″, 8-1/4″, and 10″ Flatten in each fold. Cut a thin slot along the 5 1/2″ score line to the width of tab of the Pop up.

Score the 5 1/2″ x 6″ piece of cardstock 1 1/2″ and 4 1/2″ down the 6″ length also score in at 1″ high to the scored lines on either side to form a rectangle which will be trimmed out to form a central tab to attach to the base

Its good idea to stamp and  decorate the two pieces before you put them together.

This card inspired me to try something else but I will leave that as a surprise for tomorrow!
