Its so nice to see the sun again! I was at a little country market in Leeston yesterday, today I was at the Rolleston Community Market and the sunshine was a lovely companion. The lawns are beautifully mown thanks to the local church teens group who are raising money for a great “hang out place”, for want of a better description. And this all screams of Summer; lovely sunshine, wandering through the markets, the smell of fresh mown lawns and the sound of busy happy children.
I did a page last week with photos from a couple of summers ago using these cute punch art ladybugs and lovely pink and red gingham paper from the Bella Rose Designer Series Paper pack. I stamped Certainly Celery A4 page with the flower from Priceless in CC ink and used the same stamp with Pretty in Pink ink on Whisper White 12X12 background page. The gingham paper was edged with the Eyelet Border Punch. Finishing touches include Certainly Celery Ribbon and So Kind (from Priceless) stamped on Pretty in Pink cut out with the Large Oval Punch and mounted on more gingham paper punched with the Scallop Oval (retiring Nov 30th).
This was a very simple page done using the Progressive Scrapbooking Method where you start with a 6X6 decorated page highlighting a photo or photos which can be used on an 8 1/2X11″ page which can then be used as part of a 12X12 page. Where you stop depends on the size of the album you are using. 8 1/2 X 11 and 12X12 are the most common sizes available but there are many others too including the 6X6″ format. Stampin’ Up! have two sizes available 6X6 and 12X12. Which one you use depends on the purpose of the album and personal preference. 6X6 pages are a good starter size as they can be completed quickly and can become part of a larger page later. Its also a great size for children as a 12X12 page can be a bit initmidating for them. Its also easy to carry and for children to look through.
Right now I better go make some cards Im working on some very cute Thomas the Tank engine punch art birthday cards as my wee girl has a birthday party to go to tomorrow afternoon for a wee boy who is Thomas mad!
