Another MDS Springfold for the bloke in your life

I meant to get this posted yesterday but you know how life keeps getting in the way!! Anyway here is a card made with the same base as the Frog Spring fold I showed you a couple of days ago. I added a matted MDS’d image to the front of this one and used the new Honeycomb Embossing Folder ( seasonal catalogue). The card base is made using the Cored’inations Early Espresso cardstock which I sanded off after embossing. Love that!

 Now lets take a closer look at the image, it is from the Digital Brush set called Adventure Awaits. i used a special function in My Digital Studio called
  The great thing about this set is that its a Digital Exclusive  so its not available in rubber.

Spring Frog

How cute is this wee guy?! This is the last of my Boy Cards made using My Digital Studio for now but Im sure I will be using it more in the future.

So this is a Diamond Spring Fold card, I love how it stands out and how dimensional it is.

I used a digi Kit called Hoppy Memories, It may look familiar to some of you as once upon a time there was a “paper” Scrapbook Kit available of this. I do love how MDS stuff never retires AND doesnt take up precious room in my Office : O

Here is the card again stretched out a bit more so you can see the folds and decoration. The Wish Big sentiment is from the Word Play stamp brush set and the balloons from the Cake and Icecream Stamp Brush set. The photo below is the back of the diamond where I can write my message. I used MDS to add an image to the mat.

On the Go with Leftovers

After making the last two cards and one I will share tomorrow I had some paper scraps and images leftover. So……what to do with them was the next question. Luckily I needed a card for a 4 yr old boy so I had a goal. Next I had a flick through some cards for ideas and came across this design which I thought had potential. here is the sketch I created

And still using up more of the leftovers I added a strip of paper along the bottom of the printed insert. I even managed to figure out how to put the little boy in the helicopter window and add words in the cloud. So amazed at my talent! Side Stepping On the Go

 Her is todays offering using the My Digital Studio (MDS) On the Go Digi Kit, its another fancy fold, this time its a Side Step Card

I always find the side step cards hard to measure and cut right BUT the answer was really simple once I knew it! Trim to an even measurement…..Well Duh! I have to admit I nabbed the template from here so many thanks to Jinky’s Crafts. So to create this card I used a piece of cardstock that was 8″ X 4″ and here is the cutting and scoring template from Jinky.

Here is a closer look at the stepped bit, notice I cut out TWO helicopters so I could 3D it.  Tomorrow I will show you what I did with some of the left over bits of card and images.

Any way here is the first of the cards I made using this set.

The measurements for the card base was 5.5″ X 12″ . Next  measure up 1″ from bottom right corner and draw line from this point to top left corner then cut on this line. Score at 4 and 8 ” and accordion fold. Tadaaa Sloping Accordian Fold Card!

I printed and cut out each of the elements and printed a mat for the inside of the card too. the background paper is printed too. Here is a look at inside the card.

ConGRADulations

Celebrating Anzac Day here in New Zealand  A day we remember those who fell fighting for our country. Lest We Remember Them!

Last week I had a whole slew of occasions one of which was an old friend whose son was turning 5. Now you would think I would be showing you a 5 year olds birthday card but NO I actually have a graduation card for you. My dear friend has managed to survive 8 years at Playcentre with her three children and is sending her youngest off to school so I thought that achievement deserved some recognition too!

 It is just a simple card using the lovely shoes from Just Married (Seasonal catalogue p 8) stamped in crumb cake and coloured using a Wisteria Wonder ink pad and my Aqua Painter. The sentiment is from an MDS stamp brush set called You Go Grad which I printed off. Loving that My Digital Studio!! I just bought the full version which at $27.95 I thought was a bargain. Anyway just so your not disappointed Boys cards will follow over the next few days and all made using MDS content combined with traditional card making.

 

Every Little Bit Punch Art Teddy

Finally I have enough time and sanity to share some work with you all! Thank you for being patient : ) You might remember this card that I shared some weeks ago.

When I posted it I hadnt finished the inside of it but I have now so here is what I did…..

You might recognize my pop up insert which you can find instructions for here. I used the same wee duck and teddy stamps from Every Little Bit to decorate the insert and created a wee punch art teddy based on the ELB teddy, His head isn’t quite as wide but I’m good with that.
